really? I would have been one of those mothers who insisted on the full name at all times. Not that I hate Ellie but I would have called my mythical dd Eleanor if I had wanted her to be called Ellie. I also like Elise and Edie and Evie and Eve and bizarrely Elsie too.

I have an Eloise, I was torn between that and Elise. She's usually Ellie though.

I am started my campaign on subtely brianwashing my eldest son to name any daughter he might have Eloise. We have the books named after her and I mentioned it once when he talked about being a daddy one day. Although he thinks he is marrying his baby brother (being married he said means you don't have any other freinds!) and I will be the mummy. So, still some way to go. Must play the song more and introduce him to medieval french religious history.

Elodie is a lovely name.

I do think it's something that I would only consider if I/DH were French or if we had French connections somehow. I think it sounds a little boden if they are not French (or do not have any links to France).

I think it is a pretty name. I have only ever come across the name once. My sister went to school with a girl who had a younger sister called Elodie. The other two sisters were Esme & Elise, so all E names!
