I automatically assume boy, however I know 2 boys and 2 girls with the name.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 05/07/2023 16:07

Boy, south east, 27 years ago.

CallieQ · 05/07/2023 15:58

Neither!

MrsMitford3 · 05/07/2023 15:56

I thought of Harley Quinn so girl name for me

PickledScrump · 05/07/2023 15:55

I know of one boy and one male dog so id assume boy.

Heatherbell1978 · 05/07/2023 15:52

Years ago I met a female Harley in America so always assumed it was, well, a female American name. Then a friend named her son. Bit too American for my liking but it feels quite unisex.

UK

Thinking boy originally as Harley Davidson bikes

But recently girl as Harley Quinn from batman comics has been popular..

So both!!

Should this be entitled “ Harley - boy or girl or motorbike.”

Sorry it is one of those names where I roll my eyes and think why would you?

No one calls their child Triumph, Yamaha or Ducati do they ?

Should your comment say either 'boy' or 'girl' or did you mean to scroll on?
Why would I? Because I like it and when you have a child you chose a name that you like for your child.
There are thousands of names which are also something else (whether that be a vehicle, object, brand, colour etc etc etc)
Thanks for your input either way

I would assume a male (the only child I know with this name is a boy; his parents are not originally from the UK). London

Pleasemrstweedie · 05/07/2023 12:39

Either, but probably more girl.

kernowpicklepie · 05/07/2023 12:38

I know a girl Harley and I went to school with a boy called Harley.
We named DS Harley so I think it's a unisex name.
I used to think it was male but it did seem to become quite a popular girls name

Weefreetiffany · 05/07/2023 12:38

Short for Harlan, it’s a boy. Short for Harleen, a girl.

IknowYouButIdontLikeYou · 05/07/2023 12:35

Boy. East Midlands

unsurereallyx1 · 05/07/2023 12:34

KirstenBlest · 05/07/2023 11:26

Neither. It's a surname.

Thanks for letting me know. Although I am aware is is also a surname, I like it for a first name x
