Anna, Olive, Cora?

Looking for a girls name for baby due in September.

I already have an Anna, and struggling to come up with something for her little sister!

I think I quite like Olive, and also Cora.

What do you think of these? And if I like these... any other suggestions?

Anna and Stella?

LadyWithLapdog · 09/07/2023 11:13

I haven’t watched Downton Abbey. It was short for Glencora in one of the others.

I like Cora. Wasn’t she a character in The Pallisers, or maybe Forsyte Saga?

Downton Abbey

Love Cora 💗 was almost our girls name.

Anna is a lovely, simple, elegant, international classic so I'd look for something similar for a sister. So not Olive! (sorry) Cora would work okay, although I'm not sure how international it is.

I like Cora best Olive is ok too.

Jongleterre · 07/07/2023 21:04

Coral is nicer than Cora.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 07/07/2023 19:17

Elizabeth for me. I’d avoid a name starting or ending in “A” because you near-on certainly will muddle them up while you’re chivvying them to school or otherwise stressed.

OliviaFlaversham · 07/07/2023 19:14

I like Olive. What about Ellen? I love that name.

Cora I like but slightly find hard to say with the r for some reason!

Topazbutterfly · 07/07/2023 17:57

My favourite is Olive, I think that's a lovely name. I'm not personally keen on Cora but there's nothing wrong with the name.

Other suggestions:
Anna and Esther,
Anna and Violet,
Anna and Felicity,
Anna and Rosemary,
Anna and Phoebe,
Anna and Verity,
Anna and Celine

Team Olive! Not only is it adorable and goes great with Anna, but it's one of the few names where I love all the nicknames too, Olly, Liv, O <3

Other ideas you may like based on those:

Anna and Eden
Anna and Celeste
Anna and Gigi (Gia/Grace/Genevieve)
Anna and Rose
Anna and Blaire
Anna and Stella
Anna and Taylor
Anna and Mia
Anna and Krista
Anna and Daisy
Anna and Rebecca
Anna and Sarah

Olive and Cora are lovely and go really well with Anna. I’d stick with one of these two- Congratulations!

threecupsofteaminimum · 07/07/2023 12:16

Anna and Sofia.
Anna & Lucy

Cora reminds me that old battle-axe off Eastenders and Olive is a bit plain for me, sorry!

KimWexlersPonyTail · 06/07/2023 19:19

I know an Anna and Isabel. They go well together

legoflamb97 · 06/07/2023 19:13

Cora whoops.
Also think Anna and Elizabeth is 👌

legoflamb97 · 06/07/2023 19:10

Coral and Olive are pretty.

Anna and Juliet
Anna and Rose
Anna and Lily
Anna and Maeve
Anna and Louise
Anna and Zara
Anna and Josephine
Anna and Tessa
Anna and Lucy make a beautiful sibset but I personally would avoid Lucy if having a baby this year because of the Letby trial. Wouldn't shock me if Netflix covers the case and the name because synonymous with Letby with a good few years.

JaninaDuszejko · 06/07/2023 19:06

Love the name Anna, nearly called DD Anna. It's simple but classy.

Yeah, really don't like Olive, much prefer Cora although not sure about two names ending in 'a'.
What about Caroline, nn Caro. Or Elizabeth, Frances, Margaret.

You could of course go for Elsa...

Luhou · 06/07/2023 19:04

Olive is on my names list. Have you considered Connie?

I also like Matilda, Ivy, May and Penelope.

Mercurial123 · 06/07/2023 18:58

Olive

Anna, Olive, Cora?
Mercurial123 · 06/07/2023 18:57

Olivia is a beautiful name. Olive not so much. I'm old it reminds me of Olive from on the Buses

Pemba · 06/07/2023 18:45

How can you like a name as lovely and classic as Anna and also a name as frumpy as Olive?
