Astrid

LobsterCrab · 05/07/2023 08:20

Esme but I wouldn't bother with the accent - no one will use it anyway!

aSofaNearYou · 05/07/2023 08:19

Definitely Astrid. Not a big fan of Cynthia/Cindi and Esme is becoming really overdone.

redheartpinkheart · 05/07/2023 08:14

I like Esme.

Cynthia is ok - nice alternative could be Celia, or I also love Lydia.

Don't love Astrid.

Sugarfree23 · 05/07/2023 07:11

Cindi is my least favourite, it might be better spelt Cindy, but it reminds me too much of Sindy dolls, it's like calling a kid Barbie.

GrinAndVomit · 05/07/2023 06:39

My third was supposed to be a girl called Astrid. I love the name.
He turned out to be a boy.

After I’d had him and I started saying the name out loud more when talking to people about what he was going to be called if he was a girl, I actually found that I hated saying the name Astrid. I don’t like how it feels when I say it. It makes my mouth feel a little contorted.

So my advice would be to keep saying the names out loud before you commit.

I still love the name Astrid when I read it or hear it said by someone else.

I love Astrid, it means star. ❤️

No, it doesn’t. Nothing to do with stars.

  1. Astrid
  1. Esme, no accent & pronounced Ez-mee
marshamarshmallow · 30/06/2023 21:04

Always loved Astrid.

Have a soft spot for Cindy too - my best friend's name - she was named after Yogi Bear's girlfriend!

shoopshoopdedoo · 30/06/2023 20:56

Love Esme (not Esmae)
Cynthia is OK
Really dislike Astrid

KnickerlessParsons · 30/06/2023 20:21

If you're going to put an accent on Esme then it should be Esmée as she's a girl.

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/06/2023 20:12

Astrid is my favourite
I'm over Esme and don't like the 'May' pronounciation
Cynthia is pretty ; not convinced by Cindy.

TrueScrumptious · 30/06/2023 20:07

Astrid.

Esme -spelled like that, no accent, is fine. Definitely neither spelling you used.

Not Cindi or Cynthia.

SneezyEvie · 30/06/2023 20:04
