Just that really... which do you prefer? What do either name make you think of... etc...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I prefer the sound of the name Georgiana but I think spelling it would be a bit of a nightmare and it’s a bit of a mouthful to say, so for that reason I’d go with Georgina. They’re both lovely names though.

Sheeniejay · 15/09/2023 21:23

I know it's not exactly answering the OP question but I think Georgie is a lovely name for a girl. Or even George. Perhaps that's my naive hope that we can be gender fluid with names.

2chocolateoranges · 15/09/2023 21:16

I prefer Jessica as I like Jess as a nickname.

im not a fan of Jenni/Jenny and Jennifer will ultimately get shortened to that.

ScattyGinger · 02/07/2023 19:12

Georgiana is a great name! An absolutely fabulous! The best name! It might even be my name. 😆 It does need correcting a lot but to honest unless it's someone I'm going to know for a while, medical records or someone's being rude to me I'm happy to go by Georgina as well.

PurpleAirGuitar · 02/07/2023 18:03

I wouldn't use Georgiana nowadays just because I have recently found out that some people think it's pronounced George-AY-na (which is not at all what the letters in the right order spell) whereas I still think it should be George-ee-AH-na like it always used to be. I might just consider using Georgina (if I didn't already have a DS with George as one of his names) but I actually think Georgette is the nicest name in the whole bunch.

OopsieeDaisy · 02/07/2023 14:17

I like Georgiana, it’s prettier than Georgina but I prefer Georgia to both.

Lottylove · 02/07/2023 11:26

I know a Georgiana, everyone pronounced it slightly differently and she has to spell it out constrain the phone

Manthide · 02/07/2023 07:30

I love Georgia but I think it depends if you'll going to use the full name or something like Georgie. I prefer Georgiana though it is more likely to be misspelt and mis pronounced.

Jomummy1013 · 01/07/2023 17:09

Georgiana is lovely. There is also Georgia.

Georgiana because if you call her Georgina when she gets to high school many will pronounce Georgina the same way as vagina. Annoying!

One of the weirdest name reaches I’ve ever seen on MN. ‘Many’ will not do this. No-one will do this.

RuthW · 30/06/2023 22:03

Georgiana.

Love all 'arna' names

I have a Georgina and she has never had that - and the bitches would have used it if they thought of it! She did get Orgi though (before she knew what it meant..) but kids especially (pre)teenage girls can be bitches!

Mine gets Georgia or Georgie quite alot not yet into Gina (which I hate!) But maybe that's to come.

shoopshoopdedoo · 30/06/2023 21:47

I prefer Georgina. Georgiana is a bit too frilly for me, though it is nice.

Ohmylovejune · 30/06/2023 10:45

I love Georgiana but it is a bit "Jane Austen". People will get it wrong too.

But its beautiful so go for it if you are happy to accept the fallout.

KirstenBlest · 30/06/2023 10:44

Isn't it Gianna, @WaterBaby9 ?

WaterBaby9 · 30/06/2023 10:42

Id cut the Georg off and go for Giana x

Londoncatshed · 30/06/2023 09:34

Surprisingly, I know a few young Georgianas but no Georginas. Only Georgina I know is a women in her late twenties.
I would go Georgina.

KirstenBlest · 30/06/2023 08:54

Georgina. Georgiana is too fussy.
i know a few Georginas and have never heard it said to rhyme with eye-na.

Iamclearlyamug · 30/06/2023 07:34

I love georgiana ❤️

SneezyEvie · 30/06/2023 07:29

Georgiana, pronounced Georgi-arna

LikeAnOldFriend · 30/06/2023 07:17

Would you pronounce Georgiana George-ee-anna, so an extra syllable compared to George-eena?

I thought about all these names as I love the shortened Georgie. Like a pp I think in the end Georgia was top for me... but really like both of yours too!

Georgiana might often be mistaken for Georgina I would guess, but I think I prefer it, it's got a lovely sound to it.

RichardsGear · 30/06/2023 07:08

Georgiana if you're aristocracy; Georgina otherwise 😉. I know a Georgina who has literally never had it pronounced like vagina. How would you even do that anyway? Georg - eye - na? Juj - eye - na? Still doesn't make me think of vagina!

Giselletheunicorn · 30/06/2023 07:01

Georgina.

IMO Georgiana is too frilly by half....

Georgina is my name and I've never experienced this!

Lengokengo · 30/06/2023 06:56

A friends daughter is called Georgine, which I think is very classy
