Pixie conjours up an image, a small slim will'o the wisp child.

Fine if you think your child will fit that image.
I have a friend whose son is called Robin, same thought- he is the most un robin like child- he's a chunky non sporty type. It really doesnt suit him.

Dixie has very problematic connotations of the Confederacy and slavery in the US. It would be a tricky name to have if she ever wanted to live or work there.

Trixie is much better, especially if short for the excellent Beatrix.
