Thoughts on Presley? What does it remind you of, if anything?

I like it. I met a five year old one about a decade ago, living in a different European country (but they were British), at a music class. He had a sibling with another rockstar surname. I thought they were a great sibset.

I had a cat called Presley.

No.

whatausername · 14/07/2023 01:34

Paedophile singer with an unhealthy relationship with his mother.

HouseofHolbein · 13/07/2023 07:57

I went to school with a Presley in the early eighties. It was incredibly out there at the time 🤣🤣

DinosaurOfFire · 13/07/2023 07:56

My first thought about Presley was the minecraft youtuber my kids watch, Elvis didn't even cross my mind.

peaceinourtime · 13/07/2023 07:47

Stick to Elvis its a nice name and its been around a long time before Elvis Presley. I don't know what puts people off using the name Elvis?

Jongleterre · 05/07/2023 22:40

They'll be a lot of Suspicious Minds about why you called him that.

Jongleterre · 05/07/2023 22:39

Apart from the Elvis and his family connection, Presley sounds like a used car salesman's name.

I just can't picture being over a park and calling out "Presley!" without other people sniggering.

narrichi · 05/07/2023 22:36

I don't particularly like it. The famous namesake just seems a bit too obvious. (I am aware that the surname Presley existed before Elvis but the name is overwhelming associated with him). He/she (not sure whether you intend it for a boy or a girl) will probably get lots of Elvis Presley comments and jokes. Plus there's no guarantee that the child is going to like Elvis's music or appreciate the association.

Just awful 😖 😱

So a terrible name AND not even spelled correctly? Yikes.

Sorry that was a typo, her name is spelt Presley!

Sux2buthen · 26/06/2023 16:32

I like it

MucozadeOnLucozade · 26/06/2023 16:29

You're caught in a trap with that name.

is it always on your mind OP? Don’t be cruel, it’s now or never to make your choice.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/06/2023 16:27

The eldest of three brothers I know...... I'm not joking, the younger ones are Dylan and Lennon. To be fair, they have different mothers, so Presley and D&L are not together all of the time, but that's one heck of a themed sibset by their dad!

TallulahBetty · 26/06/2023 14:32

Awful. Try-hard. Oh we are sooooo into our music, daaaahling

Or you're so old 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

strawberrywhisk · 26/06/2023 16:24

BoohooWoohoo · 26/06/2023 16:19

Awful. Considering his love of very young girls why would you pick a pedo's name ?

Why would anyone pick names that could be a murderer etc, don't be so goady. Have there been no Peters or Ians since Sutcliffe or Brady?

strawberrywhisk · 26/06/2023 16:22

Another generation will not be familiar with Elvis unlike some of us old farts, so I can't see any playground bullying. If you like it, use it.

JeminaSunshine · 26/06/2023 16:14

It's a shocker. I was 😬 when Jess Wrighy announced it.

CurlewKate · 26/06/2023 14:53

A guy down the chip shop.....

jammydodgies · 26/06/2023 14:51

It reminds me of Wesley and unfortunately that's not a very 'cool' name. I think it's a bit chavvy - sorry!
