Just that really - if you hear Casey, do you think boy or girl?

I know the name is unisex, just wondered about first impressions.

I’ve only ever known it as a boy’s name and had no idea it was unisex! I like Carey which is similar for girls.

I think of a boy, but I might have actually heard it more often for a girl (although some of them might have had alternative spellings).

I definitely like it better for a boy.

Newt's dolls head in Aliens was called Casey and I've taught a male Casey, so 50:50 for me.

I think of this too although it probably dates me a little? I don't think it has the same association for Millennials or Gen Z though.

Around here Casey is split pretty much 50/50 with boy/girl with a few KC thrown in.

I think it's more commonly used for girls but I much prefer it for a boy.

It's fantastic how many people remember Casey Jones!

Also, the anonymous male host of one of my favourite podcasts, Casefile, has the nickname Casey. So that further entrenches the maleness for me.

Dog, sorry! Girl dog. Ireland here, Casey is a common enough surname. And I'm definitely not keen on Kaycee.

How about something a little different sounding, Cassie for a girl?
