Just that really. Looking to name DS2 and curious about what you’d choose. He’ll most likely be fair with blue eyes and blonde/red hair, if that makes a difference.

Nobody has suggested Sly yet! (Sylvester for the long form Grin.)

Alexander? Shortened to Xander

steppemum · 21/06/2023 11:07

agree that is needs to be 2-3 syllables.

Think again about Reuben.

dc 1 we had a girls name picked out, he was a boy
dc 2 we knew she was a girl and really didn't want the girls name we had had for ds, so named her something else.

dc 3 we came back to the original girls name and it really suits her

Mummaneedsabreak · 21/06/2023 11:05

Nate

Redshoeblueshoe · 21/06/2023 11:03

A while ago there was a thread and the woman wanted to call her DS Montgomery Fox. It was loved by everyone.

I wouldn't use one that is already an actor or famous person

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 21/06/2023 11:01

I agree with most people that it suits a 2 or 3 syllable name best, but then then I’d equally have to love the shortened version. Around here every name gets shortened- even if you’d think they wouldn’t!

Sebastian. Sounds great with fox and goes lovely with his sibling!

We both love Sebastian but I hate Seb and it’s inevitable that he’ll be called that around here.

I love the surname Fox and think it goes very well with classic names such as:
Edward Fox
Samuel Fox
Joseph Fox

Benjamin, Alexander, Matthew, Adam

Rueben Fox would become Rue Fox which will make him a double barrelled animal....nooo.

James Fox
Edward Fox
Levi Fox
Sebastian Fox

I like sebastian fox. It sounds strong and confident.

MenoRageisReal · 21/06/2023 10:11

I think just about any name would go with Fox except I personally wouldn't choose one starting with an F.

It must be one of the easiest matches. <looking at my long complicated surname and sighs with jealousy>

Marcus
Nathaniel

I would avoid alliteration

DS1’s name is Nathaniel ( known as Nate).

So lucky! Almost anything will be enhanced by that surname.

Traditional - William/Will Fox, Benjamin/Ben Fox

Unusual - Iago Fox, Xavier Fox

Even a couple of names from a thread yesterday sound better -
Dorian Fox, Florian Fox, anyone?

WinterCarlisle · 21/06/2023 10:06

Reuben Fox is fantastic!
