Which way round?

Hannah Katie

Or

Katie Hannah

Both are on our shortlist singularly and we agreed previously that baby will have my maiden name as a middle name but to comprise would we be giving too many names if baby is a girl. Such a minefield 🤯

Very 90s.

Hannah Catherine.

DuchessOfSausage · 21/06/2023 08:37

Hannah and Katie are both nice but I'd use Katie Hannah or Hannah Kate.
Which sounds better, Katie Surname or Hannah Surname?

shakeitoffsis · 21/06/2023 08:36

Very dull

PickledScrump · 21/06/2023 08:19

its quite common to have 2 middle names so if you want two then have them. Kate works much better than Katie. Works much better whichever way round you have the names too

atthebottomofthehill · 21/06/2023 00:38

Hannah is a lovely name. Agree Katie is a nickname so put it in the middle. Kate flows more nicely though and is prettier, and more elegant.

pregnancyrollercoaster · 21/06/2023 00:36

Yes it was the having 2 middle names rather than first / middle / surname convention - apologies pregnancy brain fog 😶‍🌫️ is strong tonight mixed in with insomnia 😴

On birth certificate it would be Katie if we went for it anywhere in their name rather than Catherine as there is an aunt on DH side who is Catherine.

I prefer Katie but with a different middle name.
If you choose Hannah then Kate sounds better with it.

Hannah Katie. Katie is quite juvenile in feel and doesn't suit as a first official name.

Unless you make it Katherine Hannah /Catherine Hannah and use Katie as a nickname whilst she's young.

I know successful Katie's in their 20s, 30s and 60s. All Katie, no Katherine.

Landndialamrhf · 21/06/2023 00:19

Katherine Hannah is lovely
Hannah or Katherine alone are lovely
I don’t think Katie Hannah or Hannah Katie work and I don’t love Katie unless it’s a nn

im not sure about your other question, do you mean are two middle names too much? No. But also why bother unless the names mean something to you, no one will ever know or hear them. Obviously that’s your choice though!

2chocolateoranges · 21/06/2023 00:17

I’d go for Hannah Kate, Hannah Katie seems a bit of a mouthful.
