Hannah Katie

Or

Katie Hannah

Both are on our shortlist singularly and we agreed previously that baby will have my maiden name as a middle name but to comprise would we be giving too many names if baby is a girl. Such a minefield 🤯

🤔 I'm curious as a few people have commented saying Hannah is a dull / boring name and I wondered why 💜

When I think of a Hannah I see a strong but caring person?

It’s dull to me because I know of so many around my age (90s baby) and so it feels very of that era. It doesn’t feel classic to my ears in the way that some names do, it feels dull and dated. Anna, however, feels very classic.

My name is quite literally Hannah Katie so I know which one I prefer!

I know several Katie/Katy's where that is their full name. My cousin is called Caitlin which I have always though a lovely name. Pick what you like best, I think I prefer hannah to Katie as a first name overall, but Caitlin and Kate are lovely.

It's our first choice of name if our baby is a girl. Hannah is classic, has a beautiful meaning and for me, represents a very faithful woman in the Old Testament. It's not particularly popular these days, but isn't odd either. IMHO, you can't go wrong with Hannah Katie 🥰

OopsieeDaisy · 22/06/2023 09:08

Both Hannah and Katie are lovely names. Katie is definitely a name in its own right (Kate less so in my opinion) and I know a few in their 30s so I don’t think it sounds juvenile at all! Go with whichever you like best/which flows better with your surname as the first name.

PeonyPaws · 22/06/2023 08:26

Katie Hannah makes me think of Katie Nanna the grumpy nanny from the start of Mary Poppins 😂 I appreciate that’s a bit niche but I do prefer Hannah Katie or better still Hannah Kate. I work with a short 40ish year old Katie and she acts very juvenile. It’s not a name I like for a grown woman. Catherine would be better.

Kaamos · 22/06/2023 07:39

Katie Hannah

Inkypot · 22/06/2023 07:37

Katie Hannah flows so much nicer than Hannah Katie.
Katie is a perfectly great name in its own right so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I know so many Katie/Katy's aged between 9 and 60ish and they are all accepted just fine as a Katie/Katy.
It's a lovely classic name that works at any age and Hannah is a really pretty middle name. Beautiful name choice OP ❤️

Whatisityoucantface · 22/06/2023 06:39

OP I have 3 good friends with the name Hannah. Therefore when I hear it, it doesn’t stand out and personally I think of it a name of my generation rather than a name for a baby. There were loads of girls called Hannah, Katie, Laura, Rachel, Jenny etc at school.
All 3 Hannah’s I am good friends with are strong and caring. If you love it, go for it!

fridaynight1 · 22/06/2023 00:59

Katherine Hannah nn Katie

continentallentil · 22/06/2023 00:44

Katharine Hannah nn Katie / Kate

Or whatever variation of Katharine you like, obviously. I love Kate but Katie too babyish as a full name

Katie Hannah much prefer Catherine with Kate or Katie as a nn but understand it’s Katie that you prefer. Hannah is incredibly dull so for that reason Katie Hannah

Not a fan of Katie, sounds too young for a grown woman,
Katie Melua
Katie Piper
Katie Boulter
Katie Taylor
Katie Archibald
Katie Hopkins
Katie Boyle
Katy Perry
Katy Wix...

Love that you included Katie Hopkins in there to sell the name 🤣

pregnancyrollercoaster · 21/06/2023 18:49

Thanks all it's really appreciated even the comments about the names being 80's/90's 🤨 (probably shows my age 😆)

Hannah / maiden name / surname has much better flow to it than

Katie / maiden name / surname in my opinion

Katie is nice & I know 'older' Katie's , it's not juvenile at all.

they're fine either way around and not 'too' much with your maiden name as a second middle name (depending on what it is 😂)

really I think it just comes down to which you prefer as her first name. Middle names aren't used much. (I like both)

Whatisityoucantface · 21/06/2023 15:54

They’re both nice enough names and I don’t think it matter which way round, just pick the first name you like the most as they won’t go by their middle name. So do you prefer Hannah or Katie?

Whatisityoucantface · 21/06/2023 15:52

1988 is calling and wants it’s names back!

bloodyeffinnora · 21/06/2023 14:52

Katie hannah sounds lovely

BinkyBeaufort · 21/06/2023 14:46

Hannah Katherine

Theoldwoman · 21/06/2023 13:43

Not a fan of Katie, sounds too young for a grown woman, so Hannah Katie gets my vote.

However, I love Kate, so would go Kate Hannah.

RuthW · 21/06/2023 12:09

Catherine Hannah is lovely

Bookworm12345 · 21/06/2023 09:40

I love Hannah Katie and it's been at the top of my list recently, but the full name would ideally be Hannah Katherine Elizabeth. I also love Hannah Beatrice.
