Yay or nay?

What impression does it give you?

What do you call a barmaid who can balance 5 pints on her head? Beatrix

(Sorry)

All the Queen Beatrix from years gone by will probably agree with you!!!

Haha well there you go, I was never good at history. Still how it sounds to this ignoramus!!

Brendabigbaps · 14/06/2023 16:33

mines a Beatrix, you’ll get Beatrice too many times to count even when you tell them, repeatedly!

I love it. Beatrix is the Dutch spelling. Beatrice the French.

DS would have been Beatrix if he'd been a DD

Ditto

I think it’s a bit Harry Potter. To me the proper name is Beatrice and this is a bit of a bastardisation of it. Bea is lovely though.

All the Queen Beatrix from years gone by will probably agree with you!!!

TallulahBetty · 14/06/2023 16:29

Awful. Frumpy, old-fashioned, lives in the country dahhhling and is married to Tarquin.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 14/06/2023 16:23

I love it. I can never decide if I prefer Beatrix (because of Beatrix Potter) or Beatrice (which looks and sounds slightly nicer IMO)

SkaneTos · 14/06/2023 16:19

Beautiful name! Makes me think of princess Beatrix of the Netherlands (the former queen, the king's mother).

FluffMagnet · 14/06/2023 16:16

Love it. DS would have been Beatrix had he been a girl.

AllPlayedOut · 14/06/2023 16:16

I really dislike it and Beatrice. I find the Bee/Beet sound very unattractive and it does make me think of beetroot.

PickledScrump · 14/06/2023 16:15

I absolutely love it, much nicer than Beatrice. Absolutely love Bea as a nn which i think would be a more natural nn than trixie. Unfortunately our surname starts with B so we can’t use it but otherwise it would be a top contender

Kaamos · 14/06/2023 16:14

I really like it.

Riverlee · 14/06/2023 16:14

Really like it, and like Trixie as nn also.

shoopshoopdedoo · 14/06/2023 16:08

I like it but prefer Beatrice. Beatrix makes me think “beer tricks” for some reason.

ell32 · 14/06/2023 16:08

Much prefer Beatrice

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 14/06/2023 16:07

Lovely name. And you can choose if you want Bea or Trixie or no shortening.

Vexxa · 14/06/2023 16:05

I like it a lot, but we chose Beatrice for DD1's name. I prefer the softer ending and I didn't want to have constant comments about Beatrix Potter.

OttoGraph · 14/06/2023 15:42

Like the name but not Bee as it’s often shortened

queenofthewild · 14/06/2023 15:40

WonderDays · 14/06/2023 15:40

I think I like it.

SunshineAndFizz · 14/06/2023 15:39

Another vote for Beatrice instead. Not a fan of Trix or Trixie at all.

Rightnowstraightaway · 14/06/2023 15:36

I find it awkward to say and it makes me picture beetroot! But I think it's quite popular around here.

caringcarer · 14/06/2023 15:27

I prefer Beatrice.

FiddleFigs · 14/06/2023 15:20

I love it (my DD is one!). She does by Trix at school (not Trixie), as there's another Bea (Beatrice) in her class.

TedLasto · 14/06/2023 15:20

I like it but prefer Beatrice.
