Maya - Really like, also a fan that it works in so many languages
Hallie - I like
Tessa - super cute, same bonus as Maya
Blythe - not my style
Anya - Love! Definitely favorite on this list
Lena - Also love! Right behind Anya :)
Margot - I don't like it, never have
Clara - I hate this name and it's weird because I do like Claire and Lara lol

Hadtocomment · 26/06/2023 19:49

Of these I think my favourite is Anya. I really like that. I quite like Hallie as well, and Tess or Tessa.

The others are all ok but don't jump out to me as much. I'm very unsure about Margot which seems very popular on Mumsnet. I keep thinking of Margot Leadbetter in the Good Life. Who was a likeable if a bit of a snobby character. Also I prefer the name Maggie (despite the Thatcher link which I shut my ears to!).

OopsieeDaisy · 26/06/2023 12:38

I like Hallie and Clara is nice, but as pp have said I also prefer Cara which I love!

Greeneyegirl · 26/06/2023 11:17

Interesting list as I think we are similar. I had Tessa and Clara on our list. We went with Blythe! People love it. It's such an old fashioned vintage gem. Was one of the most popular girls names in Elizabethan England.

PaigeMatthews · 24/06/2023 23:14

Blythe

mathanxiety · 24/06/2023 23:12

Not keen on Maya, Anya, or Margot, but the rest are lovely.

Thalia2008 · 24/06/2023 21:04

Love the name Anya

Workfrommoan · 23/06/2023 17:56

We have a Blythe and I absolutely adore it, think regularly about how glad I am we didn't have a boy so we could use it 😆

Get lots of lovely comments about it too.

Maya - Really pretty
Hallie - I think it's sweet and nice
Tessa - Gorgeous, underused too
Blythe - Only one I'm not keen on
Anya - Nice, but there are lots of ways to spell it
Lena - Also nice but many diff ways to pronounce
Margot - Lovely but it does make me think of maggot sometimes
Clara - Absolutely beautiful

Favourite is Clara.

RoseMartha · 10/06/2023 07:43

I like Lena and Clara (although I prefer Claire)

Mummytobe333 · 10/06/2023 06:35

My favourite is Hallie 💓

continentallentil · 09/06/2023 21:51

I’d go for Blythe - lovely underused name
Tessa is also v nice

Maya - nice but so overdone
Hallie - faddy
Tessa - v nice
Blythe - really great
Anya - not as nice as Anna. Annis, Anest or Annelise maybe?
Lena - OK - but so many Lara/Lyra/Lola/Luna/Leila/Lila names - they all blur
Margot - really nice but very of the moment and being overdone
Clara - nice, popular

Confusion101 · 09/06/2023 21:11

Maya: as others have alluded to, is it pronounced My-a or May-a? There are quite a few variations of this name which turns me off it.
Hallie: absolutely love! And love this spelling.
Tessa: don't hate it, don't love it.
Blythe: not a fan
Anya: prefer Enya
Lena: love it pronounced as Lee-na
Margot: love it but will everyone associate it witb Margot Robbie?
Clara: i absolutely love this name, unfortunately I can never use it!

misspollycat · 08/06/2023 19:43

Maya - I quite like, but not one I would use personally.
Hallie - I like the sound of it, but feels like one of those faddy names that will date in a few years.
Tessa - I like, but prefer Tess.
Blythe - I dislike, but could be one of those names that might grow on me after I'd heard it a few times.
Anya - I like, but not enough to use.
Lena - I love it pronounced Lee-na, but been informed it's actually Lay-na, and this doesn't have the same vibe for me somehow.
Margot - I have a feeling it will date easily, but seems really popular at the moment.
Clara - My absolute favourite! Love it!

PickledScrump · 08/06/2023 19:39

I like Clara, Tessa and Anya. Not keen on the others

Rauha · 08/06/2023 19:37

TheMurderousGoose · 08/06/2023 10:31

Maya - nice name but there are loads of mias, mayas, maias about
Hallie - lovely
Tessa - I prefer Tess
Blythe - sounds a bit WASPy
Anya - reminds me of onions
Lena - I like this one
Margot - never met a baby Margot until a couple of years ago and now it feel like every second baby girl is called Margot.
Clara - nice enough but a bit dull

FayCarew · 08/06/2023 10:21

Maya - too many Maya, Maia, Mia, May type names around. Meh
Hallie - too trendy, lacks substance
Tessa - like
Blythe - nice sound but grim town up north
Anya - nice enough but prefer Anna
Lena - too many L names around. Len-a, Lee-na or Lay-na?
Margot - too trendy. Maggot
Clara - prefer Cara

LulooLemon · 08/06/2023 09:28

Maya - love if pronounced Mye-a (to rhyme with sky-a), no if it rhymes with fay-a
Hallie - no
Tessa - yes, but I would put Theresa on bc
Blythe - no
Anya - lovely
Lena - no
Margot - lovely
Clara - beautiful, but watch out for regional pronunciations which may be different to you're

jackles · 08/06/2023 09:21

Pemba · 08/06/2023 09:15

I like all the ones ending in 'a'! The others not so much.

My least favourite is Blythe as it seems more like a surname to me. A nice enough sound though, would be OK as a middle name.

Makes me think of skylarks - I've never seen it used as a name.

Hail to thee, blithe Spirit!
Bird thou never wert...
