Beginning my search for baby names 🙂

Can I hear your honest opinions on these name combinations:
Alice Aurora
Aurora Fay (open to 'Fay' spelling variations)

Aurelia
Abigail

I like the Fae spelling.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/06/2023 00:31

Autocorrect. Aurora Fay. Don't go Fae.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/06/2023 00:30

Aurora Fae is very pretty and fairy like. I love it.

Alice is lovely and solid, bit I think Alice Aurora is a mouthful.

Fay works for both as middle names

continentallentil · 07/06/2023 00:05

Alice is nice but overused

Aurora is ok but a bit Disney faddy

Fay is a bit wet honestly

How about Allegra?

PickledScrump · 06/06/2023 20:26

I can’t stand aurora. To me it seems as silly as naming a child Cinderella. I love day and Alice. I’d go either Alice Fay or Fay Alice.

SoShallINever · 06/06/2023 20:06

Aurora Faye. Really like this.

BlockbusterVideoCard · 06/06/2023 20:03

Aurora Fay(e) flows much better but both combinations are nice and I personally like all the individual names.

Aurora Alice is actually slightly better. It depends what sound your surname starts with, as well.

Avoid Fae as a spelling IMO, if you were tempted, it won't age well.

Leapintothelightning · 06/06/2023 19:31

I actually like Alice Fay or Fay Alice!
As much as I want to love it, I'm just not a fan of Aurora, it feels too frilly to me

JamSandle · 06/06/2023 19:25

Alice Aurora or Aurora Alice

DuchessOfSausage · 06/06/2023 19:15

It might be plain to you @ourflagmeansdeath , but I think it's a classic and nice and simple. Aurora seems faddy and princessy, and I know too many people (including adults) who would say it an Ovova or Owowa. I don't even like it, Dawn is better.

ourflagmeansdeath · 06/06/2023 18:22

Alice Aurora - I think it sounds a bit clumpy together and Alice is so plain to me
Aurora Fay (open to 'Fay' spelling variations) - I really love this! It's fairytale like but overly so and it's really pretty. I prefer Faye but Fay is nice to. Defo not Fae. Aurora is gorgeous though

Rightnowstraightaway · 06/06/2023 13:17

I actually like Fay the most!

Aurora Fay has very fairy princess vibes for me.
Alicia Fay?

DuchessOfSausage · 06/06/2023 13:11

Fae is dreaful. Fay is nice. Faye is just complicating a nice simple name.

JulieHoney · 06/06/2023 13:03

Not sure about Aurora
She'll have a heck of a time in nursery with the little kids struggling with Rs - it's much more of a stubbling block with internal Rs compared to Ruby or Rose.

RosaSkye · 06/06/2023 13:00

Another vote for Aurora Fae with that spelling

I do really like Alice though, just not sure on Alice Aurora

PossiblyNotOne · 06/06/2023 12:30

Aurora Fay. But definitely not hyphenated, that’s been done to death. Also it’s too much of a mouthful.

RuthW · 06/06/2023 12:16

I have trouble saying Aurora. I love Fay

GoodChat · 06/06/2023 07:04

Like... in Wonderland?

Aurora Fay is the better option by far - but young children will really struggle to pronounce it.

I know several Alice’s, it is a fairly classic English name that predates Alice in Wonderland. When I hear it , it’s not the first thing I think.
Aurora is more unusual, the only Aurora I know is the Disney one so that is the association I have.
Aurora Fay is very fairy like. I prefer Alice.
The OP asked for opinions!

DuchessOfSausage · 06/06/2023 09:07

Not Aurora. Lots of people can't say R.

I like Alice but don't think it goes well with Aurora when said together. Are these first and middle names, or a double first names? If first and middle then I don't think it really matters whether the names go well and they are hardly ever said together.

I like Fay as a name - do not like Faye, the e just looks so unnecessary and fussy to me.

First and middle, but not opposed to a double first name if a nice combination can be found.

Thank you to everyone sharing your opinions with us! I'll share them with my husband later so we can begin to compile a list of possible names & combinations.

To be fair you could also use Aurora Alice as it flows better than Alice Aurora

Veryfishy · 06/06/2023 07:37

Aurora Faye
I do like Alice but think it needs a longer middle name … Alice Felicity ?
Or Alicia Faye

Rauha · 06/06/2023 07:29

Alice Aurora

ThomasinaLivesHere · 06/06/2023 07:27

Aurora Fay flows better than Alice Aurora however it’s unlikely she will be known as that. She’ll be either Aurora or Alice so I think choosing your fav first name is more important than the flow of first and middle name.

mintich · 06/06/2023 07:07

Aurora Fay
