I have an Ezra already, which was a lot less common at the time.

Trying to find a unique name for a boy and girl.

Currently like:

Girls:

Kalani
Arazo
Melody
Mali
Amila

Boys:

Kobe
Rio
Keanu

Any opinions or suggestions would be great!

Ezra is lovely😊 I like melody (was an option if my son was a girl). Could have something like Madison. I liked Clemence (clemmy for sort). My friend has a son named Malachi- no one was sure to start with but it grows on you and he is Mali for short (also biblical like Ezra). Good luck! My second son is due shortly and my husband picked Jonah for him. I would still be going back and forth I think. I also liked Levi and Easton x

Thank you for some lovely suggestions!

Arazo- Haemorrhoid cream

Ezra is an actual name though. Some of op's suggestions are not essential for humans.

They are all names. Just clearly not easy on the western ear.

Ezra is Old Testament so I would start there:-

Miriam
Sarah
Esther
Abigail
Tamar
Rachel
Leah
Rebecca

Irene
Daphne
Juniper

Godfrey
Ray(mond)
Micha

Wow can people stop being so shitty to the OP?

Ok so she mistake used "very" before unique. Not the point of the thread and patronising to keep raising it.

And yep, we get that some of you only approve of children as human beings if they are named Susan, Jane, Thomas, Michael or some other Enid Blyton middle class yawn, but the OP's son is called Ezra and she's looking for a name that goes with that so she's not going to choose Elizabeth, ok?

Ezra is an actual name though. Some of op's suggestions are not essential for humans.

Some pretty unique ones in amongst those.

Some pretty fucking ridiculous ones.

I was tempted by the name Atticus when having first child but it didn’t go with our surname. Also considered Radley, Harper and Jeremy (spot the To kill a Mockingbird theme) We have a Geronimo in the family, that’s quite unusual.

mauvish · 26/05/2023 22:06

Vera-Youneeku if it's a girl. (Last letter silent, just because).

Vier-Junik if it's a boy.

I’m confused as to why “Mali” is pronounced “Marley”?

OP clearly has a non-rhotic accent and was trying to express that it’s a long A. To rhyme with Bali. Like the west African country of 21 million people…

CurlewKate · 26/05/2023 14:29

Paul,Jason,Gilbert and Kenneth are all significantly "more unique" than Rio!

KirstenBlest · 26/05/2023 14:24

@ClemFandango1 , it has a certain ring to it, but Bazouker would be unique, i think.

@pottytrainingggg , Ezra and Elizabeth are both biblical names.
No more unusual a pairing than something like Daniel and Hannah or Joshua and Rachel

ComeTheFuckOnBridgett · 26/05/2023 14:16

Mali isn't Marley. And Marley isn't unique.

OP none of the names you have as favourites are unique names, you know that right?
Do you want a unique name or an unusual name? You need to be clear on this really as they are not the same thing.
