Dahlia - botanical options

We love the name Dahlia for a girl, from the flower. But we aren't keen on the fact that Lia/Leah would be a huge possibility for a nn.

Are there any other names similar or along the same botanical lines that wouldn't have a 'common' nn?

I love Dahlia but only as Dah-lia I hate day-lia so had to strike it off my list.

could you have Dally as a nn instead of Lia/Leah.
I’d say Winnie was incredibly popular so are you looking for something less popular than that?

Primrose is lovely. You could call her Primmy or Rosie .

Why would anyone shorten Dahlia to Lia/Leah?
I'd be more concerned about whether she'd be correcting the pronunciation, -

Dahlia will probably get misnamed Delia.

'Common' as in popular. We like slightly more 'unusual' names/nns, eg our DD is Winter, nn Winnie.
