Help to name Baby Boy No.2

Hello!
Really need some help, we found out we are expecting another baby boy and we have absolutely 0 names, with our first his name felt right we were so excited but this time around I don't feel anything for any name really.
We are in Australia I am from the UK and we love British ties, my son's name is Oxford so quite different but really suits him. We wanted something that goes well with Oxford different easy to spell I feel totally lost :(
We had thought maybe a place name a little village in the UK or something but so lost now and feeling a bit disconnected from this pregnancy because we can't name him (and I feel guilty for my son but that's another issue haha )

I'd go with the tried and tested classic place name names.

Lewis
Angus
Struan
Craigie
Oban
Brodie
Errol
Clyde

Yes these are all Scottish places but they are the one that work best as baby names IMO.

What about Bourton for a Cotswoldsy name? Oxford and Bourton.
I'm not keen on place names as people names but it's the one I'd go with as it's less obvious than Cambridge etc.
I'd skip the Slaughters though Wink

My husband's a very very keen surfer and has always wanted Occy as a name for child and I could not get around it haha it it's the name.of a famous surfers that he's admired all his life. I really wanted a UK British name because our children have both Aus and british citizenships and at the time.i was hormonal and quite homesick we had him in covid times

The Cotswolds is where I am from and so when we were looking we saw Oxford and thought let's go for it and I could very very loosely attach occy to it as a nickname (which we don't haha )

I love these names especially Marlowe, Warwick and Paddy

I also just wanted a really British name I liked Ernie or Ernest just I suppose wantef a strong connection to the UK

Do you have a connection to Oxford, is that why you chose it? If so, think about where else you have connections to, so that the name also has some meaning to you.
If you just picked Oxford as a name with a UK connection rather than personal to you then the field is wide open for other UK cities, areas, places.

Oxford and Sennen (coastal village in Cornwall)

Penn is a village and Marlow is a town. Both in Buckinghamshire.

I feel exactly like you, OP. Love my first son's names. This time round, I like a lot of names but don't love them, iyswim. I think me and DH have 'settled' on something which is alright, maybe a bit boring but both of us think we'll never like another name as much as DS1's! However, DH thinks it's about the child and we will grow to love their names as we get to know our new bundle, arriving imminently. I am going with that! Good luck xx
