What are your thoughts on Crispin?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GoodVibesHere · 10/05/2023 18:35

Oh please. Nobody calls a baby Crispin 🤣

Giselletheunicorn · 10/05/2023 18:33

It veers toward Upper Class Twit

I agree. And too many possible jokes around crispy etc.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 10/05/2023 18:11

I like it! I know an adult Crispin and I’ve never thought his name was odd or awful, just unusual (which makes him stand out among the sea of Andys and Daves and Marks the same age, which I think is a good thing!)

afrikat · 10/05/2023 18:05

Crispin Glover, a very odd actor

RosaSkye · 10/05/2023 18:05

I’m not keen on it , I don’t really like the “isp” in there

LOVE Caspian though , which I hear as really handsome & adventurous

Suzi9989 · 10/05/2023 18:01

Creme like the donuts?

orangeflags · 10/05/2023 17:56

It's fine. I know one and he's great

AhNowTed · 10/05/2023 17:55

It's a saints name and not remotely pretentiously posh.

I've always liked it.

Go for it.

Cincinnatus · 10/05/2023 17:50

I know a Crispin. About 50. Terribly posh and eccentric and a lot of fun.

MonumentalLentil · 10/05/2023 17:43

It's an old name which I had forgotten. My first thought was 'Apples'.

SophiaLarsen · 10/05/2023 17:36

I've known 2 Crispins. One at school (not a posh school and no one teased him) and one at work. Yes very posh and in a position where no one was allowed to tease him.

It's a nice name.

JD90 · 10/05/2023 17:20

Makes me think of Crispin Glover and the rumours of how strange he is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pemba · 10/05/2023 17:18

I am sorry, it sounds very wet to me. Overly posh too.

Splinters05 · 10/05/2023 17:14

Sorry but sounds like crispy

Nope it's not a good one 😕 sorry OP

IglesiasPiggl · 10/05/2023 17:13

It's up there with Tristan, Tarquin and Cosmo for silly posh names.

MissingMoominMamma · 10/05/2023 17:13

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 10/05/2023 16:24

I like it. A bit on the posh side but not pretentious.

My first thought was that it was very pretentious.

Onlywords86 · 10/05/2023 17:10

Crispin Bonham Carter.

I like Crispin as a name. Go for it. Life’s too short to not use a name you like and you will never please everyone. Even a very usual name like Joe will bring the sceptics out if you poll it.

SprinkledGlitter · 10/05/2023 17:10

I knew one growing up. It just feels like a completely normal name to me. I never knew it was such a marmite name until I joined MN.

angelicaelizapeggy · 10/05/2023 17:06

Don’t do it

SaveMeFromMyBoobs · 10/05/2023 17:04

Kirsten/kristin (for girl), chris (either), koen, casper, caspien - fine

Crispin? God no. The jokes would be horrendous.

MumsSleepBetter · 10/05/2023 16:37

I know a Crispin, he is lovely suits him very well

ThickSkinnedSoWhat · 10/05/2023 16:26

Neverenoughfor · 10/05/2023 15:57

Crispin dry sorry

This for me too I'm afraid

BounceyB · 10/05/2023 16:26

Definitely not. Don't do it.

postwarbulge · 10/05/2023 16:24

Only one step down from Tarquin

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 10/05/2023 16:24

I like it. A bit on the posh side but not pretentious.
