What do we think? Does it fit with the old lady name vibes. What about Sally? I really like them both.

I like Maud and Wilf

Not keen on Amelie and Clara, Francesca is a little fussy, and Isobella looks wrong

Not really into those names either just citing popular old fashioned names. My personal favourite trad girls names ( that I have not used myself) are Isobella, Francesca, Amelie and Clara.

Oh I love the trad names you've mentioned here! They are all gorgeous and I know a child with each of those names (as in children who have the names, not one child with all the names 😄)

I don’t think Wendy and Sally are old enough to be fashionable again yet.

kids born now will be calling their kids names like Sally, Wendy, Deborah, Susan , Julie etc.

they are just middle aged women at the mo.

I have a relative called Wendy, in her late 60's.
Was a modern name in the early 50's, but actually the more I read it the stranger it sounds 😂
Definitely can't imagine a baby, toddler or teen with the name.

I think Sally is a classic

Wendy is IMO dated. I know a few who are all 50-70.

It's not old lady cool, I'm 43 and went to school with Wendy's. I prefer Sally

Wendy I’d put with Sharon, Tracy, lynn, Beverley type names of the 70s

Sally is more along the lines of Nicola, Kelly, Samantha, Jody of the 80s

i don’t mind either and wouldn’t bat an eye if there was one in my daughters nursery

I like both. I’ve always liked Wendy, maybe because all the ones I knew growing up were lovely and definitely not old laddies.

Seems I’m with the majority: no to Wendy, yes to Sally!

Just had a count up and I reckon I know about 8 Sallys. Age range from 30 up to nearly 80.

I quite like both. Sally reminds me of the home and away character but I can't imagine that would be a hindrance!

Had a quick google and you may be right! Also some records of it being a male name or a diminutive of Wendelin (also male). I take the 'made-up name' thing back (still not keen on the name, though).

Sally's quite nice. Wendy is a no for me - epitome of a made-up name (by the author of Peter Pan, IIRC).

I always thought Wendy was a diminutive of Gwendoline.
