Juniper and ?

Sister name for Juniper. Have the following list, DH and I can't agree on much! He likes semi-nature themed but not too matchy with Juniper (nn Juni) and I like some of the more vintage/classic names. Current list is May and Fern but struggling with middle names as they are both one syllable. I liked Alexandra as a middle but they are veoted. Could not bother with a middle but my eldest has the same middle as me and feel bad not giving the new baby a middle.

May
Fern

Others on my shortlist are Faye, Robin, Chloe, Elodie.

Any other ideas or help with middles very welcome!
(Names I love but DH doesn't are things like Harriet, Tabitha, Thea)

First thing that came to mind was -

Also, I veto your DH's vetoes because I love Thea and Alexandra and think they are perfect with Juniper haha

Isn't the obvious one Gin (Ginny, Virginia) as gin is made from juniper berries?

DiscoBeat · 19/05/2023 18:19

Personally I wouldn't 'theme' it as your second daughter could grow up thinking she had to have a secondary matchy name, especially with such an unusually named sister. Personally I'd wait until she was born and see what names jump out at you when you see her face.
But if matchy is your thing then Holly? Autumn?

May is so bland against Juniper.

Juniper is the popular girl at school, she's a little bit wild but in a climbing trees and standing up to the bikes kind of way.

May is just say in the corner with her head in a book.

Marielle is pretty. And now delicate than Juniper but she's the one whom nurse the birds back to life in their little cardboard box and sings to the wind

Bunty is a term of endearment and means 'playful', also means 'plump'. I think it is a childish name and few grown women would be happy with it. Along with 'Wendy', you rarely hear it nowadays, thankfully. I used to a comic called the 'Bunty' as a child.

Daffodil63 · 18/05/2023 23:05

I heard a lovely name today -Bunty
Not sure if it's short for something else

If eldest has your middle name you better choose a meaningful/family middle for new baby or they will feel like an afterthought!
