I think the name Amelie is beautiful

LaLaLouella · 27/04/2023 23:47

How about some other French names?

Anouk, Mathilde, Elise....

LaLaLouella · 27/04/2023 23:45

Amelie is a very pretty name but there are LOADS of them around here and all pronounced differently, and in ways which sound a bit wrong to my ears.

I don't love Celine, I just think Dion...

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/04/2023 23:35

Selina or Selene (Sell-ee-nee)

Celine makes me think of Dion and also the French versions of names rarely work as well in English as the Latin

Amelie is a bit wet, faddy and overdone.

Hanneli · 27/04/2023 23:32

Amelie is a beautiful name. I work in a large school and haven't met one.

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 27/04/2023 23:16

What about Emilie or Cecilia?

Simd1 · 27/04/2023 23:12

I much prefer Celine

fairycupcakes · 27/04/2023 23:11

What about Amelie Celine (Surname)

and congratulations, hope you’re both doing well 💕

pancakesandpepsi · 27/04/2023 22:11

Celine 💕

DramaAlpaca · 27/04/2023 22:09

Celine.

If you happen to have a French accent, Amelie is pretty. The average English person's 'Ammerly' pronuncation just isn't.

AgnesGray · 27/04/2023 22:04

I work in a school and there are A LOT of Amelies all pronounced wrong.

I'd go with Celine.

PickledScrump · 27/04/2023 22:02

Celine makes me think of the singer which just makes it seem very dated. Amelie is nice in a French accent, not great if you live in the UK though.

Celeste?
