I am German, partner is British and we are disagreeing on this name. Just interested to see what other British people think about it. Do you like it or not so much? What are your associations?

It’s ok - it was very popular maybe 20 years ago, so lots of late teen to mid 20s Mollys about.

It’s sweet but slightly twee, it’s originally a pet form of Mary, so personally I’d go for something slightly more grown up as a full name like Mary, Marianne, Rosemary, Maria etc and use Molly as a nn

These days I associate it with affluent metropolitan/media types. Molly is always blonde and dressed in Mini Boden.

Bit wet I think, but there are far worse names. I do like it as a middle name. I prefer Holly.

I know a few adult Mollys, ranging from in their 20’s to 70’s.
I haven’t met a Molly that I don’t like yet.

I'm British and I think it's quite sweet. Some people think it's too babyish but it is still a very common name in England and nobody would think it's strange even if they did dislike it.
