RobertaTheRotund · 23/04/2023 08:39

Yes, I like my name.

We used dh's name as a mn for dc2 too!

midsomermurderess · 23/04/2023 08:35

It has in recent years become enormously popular, in a number of variation, from my knowing no one my age with my name to there being masses of them everywhere, so, regretfully, no.

Celticdawn5 · 23/04/2023 06:12

I have had a lifetime of spelling out my name so no, I wouldn’t use it for a baby.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/04/2023 06:05

My first name is DD's middle name.
All the eldest girls in my family have this name somewhere.
It's a popular name which comes up on Baby Names pretty often, and is largely very well liked.

MrsRickAstley · 23/04/2023 06:01

Nope

WeWereInParis · 23/04/2023 06:00

Yes, but I don't think it would necessarily have occurred to me. It's unusual, although it is a name everyone will have heard of.

IglesiasPiggl · 23/04/2023 05:56

No, my name is very much of the 1970/80 bunch. It's not awful, just dated.

Izzabellasasperella · 23/04/2023 05:40

No I like my first name but it's nothing special.
I did use my middle name for dd and she is planning on using it as a middle name if she has a daughter which I think is lovely.

OldFan · 23/04/2023 03:44

If I'd been a boy, I think I was going to be a Gavin, so it could be worse.

OldFan · 23/04/2023 03:42

No, it's bland, nothing going for it.

Quinque · 23/04/2023 03:16

Definitely not, my name is dated and resoundingly dull. It's not due a comeback any time soon.

salamithumbs · 23/04/2023 01:25

Also, my name is common-ish but I like being somewhat anonymous- I wouldn't like if my first name was so unusual that someone could easily google me.. I'm the same with my children's names!

salamithumbs · 23/04/2023 01:23

Maybe! It's quite an ordinary name but I think it's easy to wear- I don't think I'm sophisticated enough to pull off a really elegant/unusual name so it suits me😂There's a difference between names I like the sound of and names I would actually want to be called if you know what I mean!

MaydinEssex · 23/04/2023 01:14

My name isn't very common, but not dated or current. I'd definitely consider using it for a girl's middle name or the male version of my name as a first name for a boy.

handsoffate · 23/04/2023 00:50

I wouldn’t even use mine for a goldfish. It’s ugly, dated and sounded completely clunky with both middle and maiden names.
I genuinely have no idea what my mum was thinking. I dropped it at the earliest opportunity.

Rant46892 · 23/04/2023 00:50

Maybe but it would become first and middle taking out hyphen.

YouWithoutEnd · 23/04/2023 00:46

Yes, in theory, but can’t as it’s also my DP’s daughters name so don’t need to confuse things any further with three of us with the same name.

Bhyr358 · 23/04/2023 00:16

Yes, I have a classic name and I think my parents did a great job naming all 5 of us. I'd use all of our family names for children.

FrogFairy · 23/04/2023 00:07

No - I don’t hate it enough to go to all the trouble of changing my name. I just feel no attachment to it and feel it is not “me.”

namechange5575 · 23/04/2023 00:07

Yes I really like my name.

ricketybeauty · 23/04/2023 00:05

Mine is a very 1986 name, I don’t not like it but I’ve not heard of it on any small children ergo, I can’t imagine baby Xxxxxxxx

Tradescantia252 · 23/04/2023 00:02

No I wouldn't, as there are other names I like better - but I do quite like it, so if there was a law that I had to use it, I wouldn't be fed up.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 22/04/2023 23:57

No, but I'd consider using my DHs name.

Gothambutnotahamster · 22/04/2023 23:54

No - mine is a typical 70s / 80s name!

Snowontheroof · 22/04/2023 23:53

Mine wouldn't be appropriate. I was named after the place I was conceived.
