no for myself

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ringmaster27 · 23/04/2023 19:40

No…because it’s been consistently in the top 10 girls names since before I was born.
When I started school in the 90’s, I was one of 5 girls with the same first name in my reception class. Forever known as “First name + Surname initial” 🙄👍🏻

Phos · 23/04/2023 19:39

I most certainly wouldn’t. It’s dated and not in a good way and I also think it has an unintelligent vibe.

namechange5575 · 23/04/2023 00:07

Yes I really like my name.

Me too

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/04/2023 19:35

No - I go by my shorter name version, and I prefer longer names, and I don’t like my longer name, sounds stuffy imo

MrsCharlieD · 23/04/2023 19:33

No but I don't even go by my given name, although it is quite popular now it's a royal name. It never suited me and I don't associate myself with it at all.

Chocolatesandroses · 23/04/2023 19:33

No I wouldn’t ..my name was quite popular in the 80/90s

simpleseechhh · 23/04/2023 19:33

yes! I love my name so much. I have only met one other

DiscoBeat · 23/04/2023 19:32

Yes I would. It's a classic but at the moment under used name.

Wedoronron · 23/04/2023 19:32

Yes. It's pretty usual. I've only met a few. Foreign and hard to spell. But like it.

Bluebellbike · 23/04/2023 19:29

No. Because it's Karen

HollyFern1110 · 23/04/2023 19:28

If I was having the baby in 2023 then maybe. It's a classic name but was used to death in the 1970's (not Sarah - that's my sister), so I'm one of 4 in a relatively small workplace.

For small children now it's much less common, but still totally usable.

DH's name - no. It was already an old man's name when he was given it, and not one likely to get a revival!

drspouse · 23/04/2023 19:25

Yes, though the ones I know under 10 use the long version (like Elizabeth) whereas I in my 50 s, and my DD's friend's 30 year old mum, use the nickname (like Lizzie), it's come back in waves and waves, just a classic.

IggyAce · 23/04/2023 19:25

Yes, it’s a classic name regularly used but not common. However I definitely wouldn’t use my middle name, it’s a filler name of our generation.

mynewusername2023 · 23/04/2023 19:24

No because it was used as one of my middle names instead.

JeepersCreeperrs · 23/04/2023 19:20

Fuck no

Pahpahpotato · 23/04/2023 19:20

Yes, absolutely. It’s short, classic without being too common and strong, also it’s clearly a girls name.
One of my close friends just called her baby daughter the same name.

Jemimapinotduck · 23/04/2023 19:17

I have a very 80's name so no. However, there was a very famous love island contestant last year with the same name so it may become popular again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Trinity69 · 23/04/2023 18:42

My name is very 80’s and there’s probably not been a baby named it for well over 30 years, so no!

Healthworrierextraordinaire · 23/04/2023 18:40

No. It's not a horrible name, and is still very popular in the country it originates from, but I don't come from that country, it's virtually unheard of here, and I have spent my whole life explaining it. No idea what my parents were thinking, no way I'd saddle a child of mine with it.

IveNCToo · 23/04/2023 18:12

I don't even want to be called my name!

TrudyProud · 23/04/2023 17:30

Yea, I love my name. It signifies my ethnic and cultural heritage. My daughter is mixed race and her 1st name is from the same "family" of names

MakesMeFeelSad · 23/04/2023 17:25

Yes, it sometimes comes up on here

WateryDoom · 23/04/2023 17:24

No. It was definitely a 'middle aged woman' name when I was in my teens in the 80s. That's because my DM called me after several of her friends - who by then were middle aged women.

It's not really made a comeback. Think Margaret or Jean.

Not popular in the 80s. Not popular now. I'm not keen on it.

ToriLynn · 23/04/2023 17:23

No, it's a rather regal name (think Victoria/Elizabeth/Anne) and while I like it, it's not a name I LOVE

camperjam · 23/04/2023 17:21

Yes, I like my name
