Nope. It's unisex and I've found it a pita growing up.

LittleCactus · 09/05/2023 09:16

Yes, I love my name and my middle name

Firebird83 · 26/04/2023 11:26

I would consider it. It’s a classic used in lots of different countries.

OldFan · 25/04/2023 23:24

sort of mean energy about them - myself included

@PaintedEgg Aw don't say that, I'm sure you're not mean. Or you could transform into being not-mean. x

I'm probably more snarky than mean, but there is definitely something about names and some personality traits :D

SargentSagittarius · 25/04/2023 23:29

No, my name is too popular now (although desperately old lady and un-used when I was given it in the 70s).

My sister has an ok name (Erica.) I have a sinister alter ego which is Angelica. Smile And a Christian alter ego now of Mary Prudence.

Fluffyhoglets · 24/04/2023 22:44

Yes. I really like my name - have never disliked it but actually love it these days!

Jemimapinotduck · 24/04/2023 21:48

Anyone else really intrigued what everyone's names are?! 🤣🤣🤣

Unescorted · 24/04/2023 20:25

Nope... I would not inflict it on my worst enemy let alone my child. My parents made a mistake of taste and fortunately realised fairly quickly & I have always been known by my middle name... Except when I suspect an organisation will sell my details on.

PaintedEgg · 24/04/2023 20:20

nope, it's such a "meh" name and every person I ever met with this name (and I've met a lot because it was super popular in the 90s) had sort of mean energy about them - myself included

namechangeforthisx · 24/04/2023 17:48

Nope... My parents were convinced they were having a boy and had I been, I'd have been called Lee Anthony. You can imagine as I'm female what it I ended up with. 1980, typical name.

MissingMoominMamma · 24/04/2023 17:37

Yes. I love my name.

Mumsanetta · 24/04/2023 17:29

Always feel very vain to admit that I love my name and would 100% have chosen it as my DD’s name if I hadn’t taken it!

Fernanfrank · 24/04/2023 17:14

I probably would actually, I really like my name. I'm an Olivia. Obviously wildly popular now but I don't really care about that. It was hardly heard in the 80's.

evilharpy · 24/04/2023 17:09

I hate mine with a passion. I just find it incredibly ugly. It doesn't even shorten to anything. I also hated my middle names and deed polled them away so at least I didn't have to have them on things like passports, but I wish to god I'd changed my first name years ago when I first moved away from home. Too late now really (I know people will say it's never too late, but the effort of it all would be immense).

pinclar · 24/04/2023 16:45

Not exactly, but I like the shortened version so I might use a full name that also had that diminutive

Threebeanburrito · 24/04/2023 16:34

No but only because it is hugely popular now for baby girls, my mum was ahead of her time apparently!

OldFan · 24/04/2023 14:35

As to people saying they have to spell it out all the time, mine I still had to as it was one of the least used versions of Catherine. And some people from different backgrounds got stuck trying to pronounce/know what my version is at all.

I shortened it legally in the end because in full it always made me feel like I was being told off.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 24/04/2023 07:26

Absolutely not! It was so overused at the time and it's not even nice.

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 23/04/2023 20:08

No, it's definitely dated and most women who share my name were born about 10 years before me anyway.

Talapia · 23/04/2023 20:02

Yes, it's a good unisex name.

SpringLobelia · 23/04/2023 19:58

No. It was in the top 10 in the 70s when I was born and is always cited as being awfully dated and naff nowadays. My poor parents thought they were being younique the spelling as well. (Bless them- they were only 21 when I was born)

MsCunk · 23/04/2023 19:56

Yeah defo

Ichosetheredpill · 23/04/2023 19:54

Never. My mum went for a unique name. There are a few of us around now (I’m in my 40s) but I’d never saddle my child with it.
