Expecting DS1 in 5 days, recently on here I have silently watched all the hatred towards the name Francis (which is our front runner for DS)
It has really made me doubt our name choice , I know I should not let opinions influence my decision but hormones are obviously all over the place too.
I plan to introduce DS as Frankie

Please give me your honest opinions do we need to go back to the drawing board and find a different name

I don't see any reason to go back on a name that you love when it is a perfectly well established, solid boys' name. It wouldn't be on my shortlist if it was my child but there is nothing wrong with the name. I quite like it.

I think that unless you (general you) choose a name that is going to cause ridicule, offence or be so bizarrely unique that your child will want to crawl into a hole with embarrassment, then you should stick to your own opinion and give your child the name you love.
