DH and I both like all the names below, but none of them really jump out at us, so other opinions would be helpful.

So far we like:

Jessica
Ella
Olivia
Skye
Lucy
Sylvie
Cleo

Thank you!

Love Lucy and Sylvie, they are both on my list

mrsgreggspastry · 04/05/2023 11:56

There are a lot of Olivias and Ellas. My favourites are Jessica and Lucy.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 01/05/2023 12:41

Jessica: I'm not sure... it's objectively lovely but to me it's still "of a time".

Ella: a bit wet.

Olivia: lovely but popular.

Skye: it's okay.

Lucy: lovely.

Sylvie: lovely.

Cleo: gorgeous. Clio is one of my all-time favourites.

Spring2008 · 01/05/2023 12:36

Lucy is my favourite.

Other suggestions - I love Hannah and Emma.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 25/04/2023 23:59

Katie
Fay
Melissa
Rosemary

Sometherusername · 22/04/2023 19:00

Lucy or Sylvia (with an a)

StartleburpFearsneer · 22/04/2023 12:53

Sylvie and Cleo.

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/04/2023 11:04

Love Cleo

And Jessica is nice

Ella - done to death
Olivia done to death
Skye - faddy and naff
Sylvie - sweet but a bit faddy
Lucy - sweet but a bit wet

Lucy by a mile....

user1492757084 · 22/04/2023 07:29

Which name has positive associations for you, personally?
Which one suits your surname?
What would the second name be?

Are you Scottish? Skye or Jessica
Are you Latvian or European or like precious metals? Silvie.
Do you like classic names that can be popular? Ella
Do you like children's literature? Lucy
Do you want your daughter to have a top ten name? Olivia
Do you like unusual, chic adult names? Cleo

Are any of the names the name of a special relative?

All are nice...
Lucy Jane
Skye Elspeth
Cleo Catherine
Ella Marion
Olivia Scarlett
Jessica Mary
Silvie Josephine

mathanxiety · 21/04/2023 15:02

Jessica, Sylvie, and Cleo are my favourites.

cordelia16 · 21/04/2023 14:28

For me, it would depend on what the surname is.

But I like

Lucy
Sylvie
Skye

MiniEggsAllYear · 21/04/2023 10:31

Cleo is lovely.
All the rest are way too overused or popular for my taste, but I know this doesn't matter to others.

Twazique · 21/04/2023 10:27

Cleo is short for Cleopatra
Clio is a Greek Muse (of History)
I really like both

How about Cassie (Cassandra Cassiopeia)

saltandpepper86 · 21/04/2023 00:15

my vote would be for Sylvie,

least fave Jessica

RedPandaFluff · 20/04/2023 22:38

Thanks everyone - I think I'm going to do a spreadsheet with scores, based on your responses, and see what comes out on top Grin

Skye, Cleo or possibly Sylvie. Bit more interesting than the others.

Londonlady1423 · 20/04/2023 22:25

It's a lovely list of names, similar to mine. I prefer classic names over the more trendy ones so I like Jessica Lucy and Sylvie. The others feel a bit too of the moment especially Ella which is very popular and similar to lots of other popular names.

Other suggestions would be Sarah, Alice, Anna, Hannah, Rose, Mabel, Lara, Martha, Orla, Molly, Charlotte

VintedoreBay · 20/04/2023 21:49

Sylvie, Jessica or Lucy.

Dislike Olivia and Ella.
Hate Cleo and Skye.

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 20/04/2023 21:28

Not keen on Skye.

Cleo will forever be a German shepherd's name to me 🤣

Olive over Olivia.

Lucy is classic and pretty

Jessica is versatile

Kranke · 20/04/2023 21:25

I’ve never met a Skye, it’s a nice sounding name and more unusual than the others. Jessica just reminds me of school, there were about 10 in my year! Same with the others, they’re a bit ‘meh’. Sylvie and Cleo are more different without being too unusual.

shoopshoopdedoo · 20/04/2023 21:20

I like Jessica and Lucy best. Olivia and Ella are nice but very popular. Cleo and Sylvie are OK, but I think I prefer Sylvia. I don’t like Skye.

fairycupcakes · 20/04/2023 20:23

Jessica - Solid classic name, you can’t really go wrong with it though previous reading of mumsnet I’m sure you’ll have people telling you they don’t like the “sick” sound in it 🤷🏼‍♀️
Ella - There’s just not much too it. Isabelle or Isabella and nn Ella would be better.
Olivia - Pretty but so so over done now but it won’t date and will always be a pretty classic
Skye - Whilst it should be beautiful I find it chavvy which I know mumsnetters hate people saying about a name but that’s the only way I can describe it, sorry. I really do want to like it :(
Lucy - I prefer Lucia (Loo see a) sounds less like loo-seat
Sylvie - This is my favourite of your list. Really pretty
Cleo - I don’t understand the hype on this, I can only think about the car. Chloe is far better x

Skybluepinky · 20/04/2023 20:00

Def not Ella it’s a dogs name, but the rest r lovely,

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 19:42

Jessica won't date, it's been around for centuries, as has Lucy, @fhillipefloppe
I'd say both were classic names. Jessica like Olivia is shakespearean.
