Just out of curiosity, do you like the name Keeley?

OP posts:

Comedycook · 21/04/2023 09:01

Horrible name imo

emmathedilemma · 21/04/2023 08:56

No, it actually makes me cringe

ReadtheReviews · 21/04/2023 07:50

I wanted to change my name as an immature 14 year old and a male mate suggested this. Was very offended as it didnt sound at all sophisticated or clever!
It's a noise sort of name. Keeley Kayley Kylie...actually prefer Kylie.

BigTedLittleTedCardboardBox · 21/04/2023 07:46

One of my least liked names. It just has a very unpleasant sound. Mealy. touchy-feely. Not a fan of names with a hard C sound generally.

NannyR · 21/04/2023 07:28

I quite like it, I also love Kirsty which has a similar vibe.

PriamFarrl · 21/04/2023 07:27

It’s a bit 80s. That said, I know two. One is 16 and one is 7.

Judgyjudgy · 21/04/2023 07:25

I like it

TrashyPanda · 21/04/2023 07:19

Really dislike it - probably because I can’t stand Kelley Hawes!

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 18:16

but Penelope has twice as many syllables, and the Es aren't as close

mathanxiety · 20/04/2023 18:13

It has the same number of Es as Penelope

itsmylife7 · 20/04/2023 16:05

No it's had its day.
The spelling is also awful....too many Es

I think it's pretty, but it was always going to be too downmarket for MN.

Never ask opinions of any girls' name on MN unless it is Otillie, Margot or Clara.

Ha. So true!

I wouldn't say I love the name Keeley but I don't hate it either. It has a nice friendly sound to it. And of course there's Keeley Hawes. It may not be her birth name but she chose it and it certainly hasn't held her back.

elm26 · 20/04/2023 15:46

Don't like it, probably because the 2 I know of are loud mouthed, gobby and rough.

OhTinyBear · 20/04/2023 15:21

mathanxiety · 20/04/2023 14:31

Nice name. I've never met one who wasn't sporty and nice.

haha, well, I’ve never met a Keeley who wasn’t creative/arty and nice! 😊

I only know clever and lovely Keeleys, so I only have positive associations with the name, despite pps’ snobbery towards it.

No, it’s awful

Skybluepinky · 20/04/2023 15:06

A fishwife’s child.

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 15:05

@SirChenjins .my post was in response to yours - it wasn't even hers as a baby.
I see it as a surname being used as a first name, so a bit like Kelly or Riley

Ya they are always v sporty!

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 14:31

It's not Ms Hawes's birth name. Her real name is Clare Julia

I know - but if I’d said that it wouldn’t have made sense on this thread!

FrigginFrig · 20/04/2023 14:32

No 😣

Pink tracksuit. Lots of gold-plated jewellery. Hangs around on street corners or in parks after dark. Clever, but can’t wait to leave education and get a job - any job.

That’s the impression the names suggests.

She may go on to found a highly successful PR firm!

And sack her friend?!

Love Ted Lasso 😊

MaraScottie · 20/04/2023 13:59

No.
