My tiny tears doll was called Angela so that must have been a favourite at one point. I also liked names from book characters and Katy ( from the what Katy did series) remains a favourite name.

I still have a list in the attic of names I liked that I wrote when I was about 12 😂 I remember Courtney was on there, and I think I also liked Tiffany for awhile...Very 90s!

DD1's name isn't on there, but I know I liked it when I was younger, as I have a picture I drew of a baby with her name written underneath 🥰

My dolls were Victoria, Louisa, Jessica and Donna - favourites at the time.

As a teen I went to visit an older friend at University. Her flatmate was Janelle, a French student. I thought it so beautiful and at the time ‘exotic’!

I love Arriety from the Borrowers too

Oo yes! I don’t think my preferences changed much as I actually did go for mythological names in adulthood, which a friend from primary school found very fitting 😂🙈

Then when I became devoted to the Jinny at Finmory books I wanted to be called Jinny.

When I was really little I thought I'd have twins Gemma and Tracey.
As a teenager I wanted 5 boys and a girl, Winston, Carlton, Layton, Levi, Leroy and Francesca.

My children aren't called any of these although Francesca was a contender for DD.

Comefromaway · 20/04/2023 11:09

Hmm I liked Chantal (seriously) and Arabella, I wrote a mystery strory and called the main character that. I have a daughter and called her neither. Luckily for her.

Mary

My name is unusual and I used to get teased about it so I pined for the simplest, most common name I could imagine Grin

ScruffMuffin · 19/04/2023 23:36

Vanessa or Kirsty. Really not keen now!

Francisco or Roman. I have no European connections.

Didicat · 19/04/2023 22:44
