Hallie
Isabel / Isabelle
Lottie (but not Charlotte)
Madeleine / Madeline

Thanks in advance!

@Heckythump1 , not yet. I'm going by names like Tony and Mandy, where people assume they are Mr A. Surname and Ms A Surname. Neither has a longer name on their birth certificate.
I also know a Tom and Alex, who aren't Thomas and Alexander, and a Charlie who is not Charlotte

Hallie - too American and not a proper name.
Isabel / Isabelle - the 2nd best on your list.
Lottie (but not Charlotte)- first choice if choosing Charlotte as personally I like proper full names that can last a lifetime with the flexibility of shortening.
Madeleine / Madeline - still think of Madeline McCann.

Exactly this
Although I do like the name

summersanchez · 12/04/2023 14:30

Madeleine and Isabelle

TheDuchessOfMN · 12/04/2023 14:22

I like Madeleine and Isabel.
Lottie is ok.
I really don’t like Hallie.

DuchessOfSausage · 12/04/2023 12:34

Hallie - seems modern and made up. I can't see the appeal.
Isabel / Isabelle - overused
Lottie (but not Charlotte) - people will assume it's short for Charlotte.
Madeleine / Madeline - Madeleine is ok but not keen on Maddie

Nobody has ever assumed that my Lottie is Charlotte, or even asked!

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/04/2023 13:44

Madeline or Isabel. I prefer the Isobel spelling though

Beachhutnut · 12/04/2023 13:01

Hallie or Lottie

Oldermum84 · 12/04/2023 12:54

Hallie.

thefarrierswife · 12/04/2023 12:41

Lottie! Great name

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 12/04/2023 12:29

Madeleine.

Lcb123 · 12/04/2023 12:27

Lottie. Isabel has too many variations. Madeline will become Maddy so you need to be ok with that

SneezyEvie · 12/04/2023 12:27

Isabelle, however, Lottie is my fave if you were to have Charlotte on BC. It’s always a good idea I think to have the full name officially so she can use it when she is older if she wishes.

Sandysandwich · 12/04/2023 12:24

Love Isabel (personally the belle ending ruins it for me)
I like Lottie too, I know one who was a Scarlett shortened to Lottie.

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 12/04/2023 12:12

Love Isabelle but it’s soooo popular if not overused.

Really like Hallie and Madeleine.

Rauha · 12/04/2023 12:01

Madeleine

miniaturepixieonacid · 12/04/2023 11:56

I really like Hallie, Isabel/le and Madeleine.

I love Charlotte but I'm not keen on Lottie. How does your husband feel about Carlotta. Or, at a real push, Scarlett? (I guess that would be Lettie, really).

If Charlotte is off the table, I'd probably go with Isabel.

Mittens1717 · 12/04/2023 10:46

Lottie is my favourite, I dont think you necessarily need to call her Charlotte, also prefer Hailey to Hallie

sunshineday223 · 12/04/2023 07:30

Thank you for your views! I think Isabelle and Madeline are my two top faves - I don't mind Maddie as a NN.I love Lottie but also agree it may be better as a NN (but DH doesn't like Charlotte).
Hallie is the one I'm most unsure about.

We have one week to go! I'm wondering whether to wait until the baby is born to decide; or whether with everything going on after having a baby, it may just be an extra pressure we won't need!

I took our list of names and a name book into
hospital with me for our first born and we decided on his name whilst doing skin to skin contact. His actual name ended up being a last minute addition to our list that we added the week before.

Did the same for my second but I couldn’t decide or think and felt totally stressed out and indecisive.

BevMarsh · 12/04/2023 09:00

Love Madeleine. Could Lena be a nn rather than Maddie?
Love Isabella nn Belle
Lottie is nice andlovely for a child but I know of an older Lottie and she just totally doesn't suit the name. When people meet her they expect a young woman- you can see by the look on their faces. I'd put Charlotte or Carlotta on the b.c.😁
Not keen on Hallie. Sounds unfinished somehow. Nondescript.

Heckythump1 · 12/04/2023 08:49

I have a Lottie who is just Lottie (don't like Charlotte - very boring/twee) absolutely brilliant name and always gets lots of compliments.

Rainbowqueeen · 12/04/2023 08:48

Madeline

MissHoollie · 12/04/2023 08:48

Madeline

PickledScrump · 12/04/2023 08:47

Still love Isabelle on your list. I like Hallie, also like Lottie but like you don’t like Charlotte but I think Lottie needs a full name for an adult as it’s a bit cute for an adult. I really dislike Madeline.

Sadiegirl87 · 12/04/2023 07:57

Isabelle would be my favourite on your list. Also like Madeline, not keen on the others. I had stress choosing our babies name after she was born and regret not having it picked out beforehand as you'll be sleep deprived and have other things to focus on. I'd make the decision now to have one less thing to worry about tbh! Good luck on the birth ☺️
