Can anyone think of any good middle names for the name Zola? And how do people feel about the name?

I was thinking Grey's Anatomy too. I like Zola.

I can't decide between a contrasting, traditional middle name or a similarly 'cool', more modern one.

Traditional:
Zola Anne
Zola Marie
Zola Catherine
Zola Louise
Zola Madeleine
Zola Rae
Zola Raine
Zola Faith

It makes me think Chelsea, I would assume a Chelsea family I think, even though I am Zola Budd era, Gianfranco overrides that for me in terms of instant reaction.

I have a Zola. Went French with the middle name.

She is a little ray of sunshine. Never had an issue with mispronunciation.

Hard to think of sibling names now to go with it though!

Zola Josephine
Zola Katerina
Zola Natalie
Zola Elisabeth
Zola Beth

I had a German shepherd dog called Zola, named after Zola Budd. Boy could that dog run! It's a nice name though.

HelpMeGetThrough · 08/04/2023 04:34

Budd. But that shows my age.

I immediately had the same thought.

Where people are saying footballer connection, I immediately thought runner.

This is probably where I heard it, actually. Though if I use it, I will never admit to my child that she was named after a character from Grey’s Anatomy!!

Zola is a very pretty name! Makes me think of Meredith Grey's daughter, in the TV series "Grey's Anatomy".

fairycupcakes · 07/04/2023 23:38

Zola Rosanne/Roseanne or Zola Rosanna/Roseanna if you like Zola Rose :) @storm2023

Feliciacat · 07/04/2023 23:11

Sorry for the typo. Gianfranco Zola, not Gianfraco Zola.

I hadn’t thought of football connections, was thinking more about Emile Zola connections. I like Zola Rose, but I know every other child has Rose for a second name at the moment….

Zola Faith

Feliciacat · 07/04/2023 23:08

Reminds me of Gianfraco Zola! People will think you’re a footie fan and make football jokes I think. That might be ok if you do like football. It’s not a bad name, that’s just what I thought of and I’m certain I won’t be the only one.

I agree that more classic middle names would be good. Zola Olivia?
