There was a thread like this a few years ago - I looked for it and couldn’t find it - so I thought I’d start another!

Mine is Rafferty. Loved it. DH vetoed.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Please use the wonderful names mentioned on this thread. Who are you fearful of? Others who are too scared to use imagination!? Slim chance that your children will become PM if that is what you are worried about and if they do "own it!" Also the " they will be bullied rubbish" not by their peers they won't unless they have extremely narrow minded, stiff parents x

@SleepHygieneHelp I used to know a woman called Rio. An artistic sociable person. She said her parents were all set to travel to South America and Rio when her mum found out she was pregnant with Rio so they called their new daughter that instead. I was quite taken by the name which most people seemed to find attractive

46mumof6 · 18/04/2023 01:40

Casper
Horatio
Atticus
Fabian

Love them all still and wish I had used them for my 4 boys

I do love the names I used but they are all normal names, I also wish I had called my 2 daughters Temperance and Clementine

Not that I wasn't brave enough, partner vetoed it but I wanted Balthazar for our son. Wouldn't let me call our daughter Persephone either the miserable sod 😂

Mine vetoed Persephone too, agree miserable sod! Also Clancy, Clarence, Rupert Aubrey and Ambrose

@GerronBuzanDoThaWomwok i ruled out Willow as a girls name for a similar reason - if she took after my families stature willowy would not be a word that you’d associate with her

😂

We loved Rio but didn't end up using it as we had a DD. Everyone we told our names turned their noses up at it but we still would have used it

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 16/04/2023 03:42

Constantine
Atticus
Anatole
Theophilus
Clément

WaitingforSummer77 · 16/04/2023 03:20

Barney... I love this name! But it is maybe a bit marmite?!

I actually don't have children....and don't plan to have any...but I often debate in my head if I should name my hypothetical son this!

Indy and Cassius are my two 'out there' options but we're not cool enough for Indy or posh enough for Cassius.

tiggergoesbounce · 15/04/2023 23:04

Lucifer

zombielady · 15/04/2023 23:03

Sid. After Sid Vicious. Still wish we had, but ds is glad we didn't.

MyMNprofile · 15/04/2023 22:50

I’m surprised how often Casper is coming up - every other boy at my dc’s primary school is Casper or Jasper

hlc123 · 15/04/2023 22:46

Sonny

Longdarkcloud · 10/04/2023 20:24

Zinzan. (Cornish) but the name of a well known NZ rugby player and I’m not a rugby supporter.
Ambrose
Jago
Rupert
Orlando

KayEmAy · 10/04/2023 20:15

Silver is a good one!

KayEmAy · 10/04/2023 20:06

This is a great question!

Mine would be -

Bellamy
Kaz
Stiles
Asa
Baylor
Dimitri

Maybe I will get braver but these are the ones that I would say fit that best

Dassams · 10/04/2023 16:30

Most of these names are normal and very nice! Much nicer than the run of the mill Jack, Charlie, Alex, Tom, Oliver that are so overused imo

Orangebadger · 07/04/2023 15:01

Raphael and Gabriel

jesslu5075 · 07/04/2023 14:43

Etienne - Not French so it would be pretentious
Vincent
Taliesin

ibis17 · 07/04/2023 14:24

We almost wimped out of the unusual name my partner loved for our son, but we went with it in the end and I’m so glad we did. While a few people have ‘commented’ we’ve had loads of compliments and I think the name really suits him. It was the only one we really loved.

IsolatedWilderness · 04/04/2023 13:14

I won't state the name but I got to use it in the end. I gave it to my dog. :-)

A+ for the pointless attention-seeking post on the thread. You achieved the attention part anyway 🙄
