Violet or Olivia?

Down to 2 names. Which would you choose? I’m based in Ireland if it’s relevant.

I have a Violet so slightly biased but I love it and it's so much less common than Olivia (if that bothers you of course).

Olivia, a really strong, beautiful name. In the area where I live, it isn't common at all - I know a lot of children and I don't know of any Olivias under the age of seven, there are quite a few baby and toddler Violets. Violet is just a bit too close to violent for me.

Although Olivia is supposed to be really popular the only one I know is in her 30s. I know more little violets though.

Unfortunately Viola doesn’t work for me as I’m heavily involved in music and think of it as an instrument not a name - for me it would be like calling a child clarinet or violin.

Viola is a good shout. That was one of my fantasy girl-baby names. Not Olivia - they are ten a penny at our school.
