Down to 2 names. Which would you choose? I’m based in Ireland if it’s relevant.

Violet all day long

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/04/2023 22:04

Olivia - because I don’t think it’s so overused in Ireland?

Violet is nice enough too.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 04/04/2023 19:31

Violet just brings that character from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory to mind.

ourflagmeansdeath · 04/04/2023 19:26

Violet

HuggingtheHRT · 04/04/2023 17:53

Violet - a beautiful flower (and Olivia is SO overdone.)

MumOf2workOptions · 04/04/2023 17:51

Violet definately

FayCarew · 04/04/2023 13:28

@larry520 , not IRL, although I despair at the language of some of them. Lilys looks strange, doesn't it, but there does seem to be a lot of them. I hope you have a great afternoon.

larry520 · 04/04/2023 12:52

FayCarew 😂 thank you! I'm assuming you're someone who loves correcting teachers. My apologies, I've already had a Pinot with friends enjoying my two week Easter break. 😉

FayCarew · 04/04/2023 12:47

@larry520 , Lilys (more than one Lily) doesn't have an apostrophe.

milliemermaid · 04/04/2023 12:13

Violet.

Beautiful name 💜

larry520 · 04/04/2023 12:11

Olivia, its popular because it's beautiful without being frilly. I've been a teacher for 30 years and can count Olivias on one hand , taught way more Lily's for example. Popularity must be regional. I want to like Violet but I just see violent and the Charlie and the chocolate factory character.

Mrsfussypants1 · 04/04/2023 11:43

Violet. I would've said Olivia years ago, but I've heard it so much it seems so meh, bland.

HappyMe6 · 04/04/2023 11:39

I love both

Aily17 · 04/04/2023 11:38

Violet is beautiful name

FayCarew · 04/04/2023 11:05

Both are OK. Olivia is slightly nicer, but it's so overused.
Livia could be an option - I'm not keen on Olly as a diminutive.

SophiaSW1 · 04/04/2023 09:18

Violet

Tellmethespoiler · 04/04/2023 07:55

Violet is really awful, so Olivia, even though it’s popular. Viola? It’s much classier than dreary Violet.

Number24Bus · 04/04/2023 06:49

Olivia

TheaBrandt · 04/04/2023 06:47

Olivia is like calling your child Sarah in the 70s.

Ncfgjdo · 04/04/2023 06:46

I know 3 Violet's born in the last few months... If the popularity aspect bothers you that is! Olivia is a beautiful, solid name- Violet sounds old and harsh to me.

MushMonster · 04/04/2023 06:42

Violet

THisbackwithavengeance · 04/04/2023 06:41
