Hello

I'm looking for names for my baby girl due in a few weeks. I live in a German speaking country so the name needs to work well in German and English.

So far on our list we have:
Sabrina
Imogen
Cassandra/Cassie
Tessa

Any other ideas? We're a bit stuck. Thank you!

Marlene - a little old-fashioned but „cool“ old-fashioned - I know a five year old Marlene with German/English parents. Works well in both countries I think. Whereas the Renates and Erikas I know of are more in their 70s/80s…

Like Annaliese, Erika, Clara and Alina. I'll add those to the list!

We've got quite a few friends with kids here, so a lot of the popular names that we like have already been used by close friends e.g. Emma, Anna, Isobel

My daughter’s German classmates were Anna, Hannah, Luisa, Sophie, Clara, Emma, Valentina, Sarah, Eva, Isabel. Much like her English classmates actually!

I like Emma and Amalia.

Also like Petra as someone else suggested, but as that was the name of my German teacher in the 1990s I suspect it’s somewhat dated.

Anna is another one that works well in both languages.

I like Elke. Ell-kuh as a broad pronunciation. But I’m sure you know that. I also like Petra. Both might be the equivalent of Gladys and Beryl for all I know, though.
