So the hubby and I absolutely love the name Atlas for a boy, but is it too out there? Will people think it’s weird? Should that matter? Thoughts please!

No, it isn’t a nice name

I love it!

It's a very worldly name.

It’s a popular Turkish name, which could explain why it’s jumped in popularity.

The child wont thank you for that name.

I've looked after one in the past - love it!

That’s a lot for a lad to live up to! What if he is puny? Would be quite cruel

Atlas is painfully trendy to me. It’s skyrocketed from never having any recorded use in England and Wales to be approaching the top 300 names with no sign of slowing down. I can see it being one of those names that comes crashing down just as quickly when the trend ends. I’d avoid any name with such a sharp, sudden rise in popularity as you’ve no idea how far it will continue to rise before it burns out.

Really? I mean I like the sound of it but would you really give your child that name? Atlas carries the weight of the world on his shoulders…

On one hand I like it on the other hand you could throw the book at it.

So I think he's likely to end up the butt of a lot of jokes and you'll question why you did it.
