I have learned from this that my friends and family are more prone to giving girls weird names than boys, these are all kiddos from the last ten years or so.

Eugene Megatron 😂

I like that.

I’ve only met one Gandalf and one Friday.

Some of these are a bit odd, though — surely people will have come across more than one Brian, or Maura? My generation is full of Fidelmas, but clearly they haven’t travelled as widely.

@Santasoorplooms, your Gerardine isn’t a well-known scholar in Irish literature and cultural studies, is she?

Shem. I love it. It is biblical but extremely uncommon in my experience. And I'm someone who deals with hundreds of names weekly.

I've met a Magenta too. The Patience in your list reminded me I met a Praise. Struggling to think of any others.

Aquamarine1029 · 25/03/2023 16:50

I worked with a woman named Exie, her given name. I love the name and she was an absolutely lovely person. She'd be in her late 70's now.)

Eugene Megatron 😂

Oh Hi, great to hear from you. I thought after that rather embarrassing fumble in Harry's bar in Venice you wouldn't want to even mention my name!

But I have a thick skin, and on that note you'll be pleased to hear that 'weeping issue' cleared up by itself - I didn't need that any ointment at all.
