Nice but it looks like Crayon at first glance. Using a K will take that away. I'm not normally a fan of changing a c-word to a k but in this case, it will be for the best.

It definitely won’t

I have a Sims family where the eldest child is called Canyon! My naming theme was it had to be vaguely nature themed and begin with the next letter of the alphabet (the parents are called Ash and Blossom). So the younger kids are:

Devon (Dev)
Ember (Emmy/Em)
Forrest (For)
Gulliver (Gully)
Hadassah (Haddie)

I actually like it.
Also considered Taiga for DC years ago; grew up in it, so connection to home.

Endeavour sounds like a team name on The Apprentice

DarkNecessities · 16/03/2023 04:15

…… but then Isla is a popular name so 🤷‍♀️

Also makes me think of bikes

garlictwist · 16/03/2023 04:14

It's a big bicycle brand and also makes me think of vaginas for some reason. It's a no from me.

It's Kanyon in Turkish and Hungarian - obviously a cognate for the Spanish Cañón which became the English Canyon. It's also Kanion in Polish and Kanjons in Latvian (both of which consistently pronounce an initial c as dz or ts). And it's Kanjon in Swedish and Estonian, and Kaňon in Czech, and Kanjonas in Lithuanian and Kanjoni in Finnish. It's even Kanjono in Esperanto (I had to look that one up).

Most words/names that you think of as starting with a C- but see rendered with a K- are perfectly normal in their own languages, whether anyone is "a fan" or not.
