Tess. I really like it. But I'm worried that 'testicle' would be a gift to people wanting to be mean to her. Would you have thought of it? Please tell me what you think!

Thanks

My mind goes to "of the D'Urbevilles" rather than testicles.

Me too.

DuchessOfSausage · 08/03/2023 13:07

I prefer Tess to Tessa, but both are ok.
Wouldn't use it with the surname Tickle/Tickell

user1492757084 · 08/03/2023 11:17

I would not think to associate Tess and Testicle.

Though maybe - bless, cress, best, guess. Ha ha ...

barca123 · 08/03/2023 10:52

Love it

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 10:30

I'd never have thought of testicle 😂

Heckythump1 · 08/03/2023 10:11

Mother in law had a dog called Tess and we all called her Testicle... I do love the name though, and prefer it to Tessa which just sounds like a middle aged woman! :P

RosaBonheur · 08/03/2023 10:10

Fine as long as your surname isn't Tickle.

Wotsitsname · 08/03/2023 10:08

Cute name, I prefer Tessy

LizzieBet14 · 07/03/2023 22:54

Beautiful name ❤️

greentreeseverywhere · 07/03/2023 22:50

I have a Tessa. she hates Tess
and everyone always says how lovely a name it is and then what pet they owned named Tessa when they were younger

It's just very of the D'urbervilles to me.
Not a great life story there.

... unless your surname is Tickle, OP?

That was in answer to this! 🤦

Love Tess. Simple but solid.

sandcastlesandseasalt · 07/03/2023 22:35

I mean...you'd have to if that were your surname, no?! It would be a 'North West' kind of gift that you couldn't pass up!

Wonderful, this is music to my ears! Well, the Tesco thing isn't, but hopefully she could live with that!

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2023 22:32

I love Tess as a name in its own right, not short for anything. It's fab. I wouldn't think of 'testicle' at all.

Haribo16 · 07/03/2023 22:26

I think if you were worried about kids using the name for teasing purposes it would have to be tess as in tesco. I knew a girl called gennette at school and everyone would sing genette the worst a man can get in the Gillette the best a man can get theme song from the advert (showing my age). Kids will find anything though to be mean about.

I don't feel strongly about the name either way, but I would never have associated it with testicle.

Same!

Undermyumberellaellaella · 07/03/2023 22:03

I don't feel like it's a real name when I say it (I know it it) which puts me off but I wouldn't says it's bad.

FatCatt · 07/03/2023 22:01

I do work in the medical field though

Zola1 · 07/03/2023 22:00

My best friend at school was called Tessa/known as Tess. I don't remember anyone ever calling her testicle in the 11 years we were friends
