Flora or Abigail or ?

After being utterly convinced I was carrying a boy, it has just been confirmed that it is actually a girl Grin Whilst we were pretty set on a boy name, we are really struggling to agree on any girl names mainly because DH rejects them all...

Our top two names so far are Flora or Abigail (but I don't love Abi). Other names on our maybe list less are Isla, Olivia, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Eve.

Some of the names I like that DH has rejected are Maisie, Mabel, Clara and Martha.

Any thoughts on Flora / Abigail or any other suggestions are much appreciated!

Same with my husband! I can’t get Mabel past him either! I hope yours changes his mind and realises it’s lovely ☺️

Aww I love Mabel, it's sad your husband dislikes. But of the two, Abigail for sure!! Flora will always be the butter but I do love Florence.

I like Abigail, but Abi is pretty inevitable.

These are on my list too, loved Arietty for my first but couldn't convince DH sadly. It's still on the list DC2.

@whattonamethatbaby Love Flora - would be a contender for me but close friend used it for their baby so it's out for me now unfortunately. How about:

I know a grown up Abigail who is an Ab, never anything else, and a 10 year old Abigail who has never been an Abbie/Abi/Abby. So you can do it.

I definitely agree that Abigail should be avoided if you dislike Abi.

Flora is sweet.
Abigail will be called Abbie by her friends so don'tuse it.

I like Abigail but also don’t like Abbey/Abi. Flora would be ‘safe’ from a shortening point of view.

I know! He is convinced Mabel is old-fashioned and that she would be the only baby Mabel around, despite me showing him that it is in the top 100!

I LOVE Flora. Flora reminds me of the saint, or the character from the Turn of the Screw, never the butter. Find it odd that it’s mentioned so often on here as it sounds like a non-issue to me!
