I think it's nice. Some years ago I wanted a DC2 and chose it for my fantasy DS.

rogueone · 02/03/2023 06:58

My nephew is a Rocco and not had any issues.

ThatCantBeTrue · 02/03/2023 06:26

I like it. Do you?

MollyRover · 02/03/2023 06:01

What about Roscoe?

SchoolTripDrama · 02/03/2023 05:58

It's a dog's name

What is chavvy

Offensive term with roots in racial hatred against the traveller community. Says a lot more about the person using the term than it would about any name they consider to be it. Seemingly existed since Biblical times seeing as Jayden is in the Bible.

neverendinglauaundry · 02/03/2023 03:26

Chavvy is a derogatory term for a poor person.

I like Rocco. I know a kid with the name and he is lovely. If you like the name use it!

My neighbour has a lovely dog called Rocco 🐶

MistyGreenAndBlue · 02/03/2023 01:23

It's only one step up from Ozzy (or maybe Izzy) though isnt it?

No I don't like it.

Epicstorm · 02/03/2023 01:21

DrMarciaFieldstone

Chavvy round these parts, sorry. Usually a sibling of Jenson/Jayden/Brayden/Cayden

Absolutely this.
I couldn’t have put it better myself.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 02/03/2023 01:19

Reminds me of rocky horror picture show, you know the scene where everyone is saying each others names?

DramaAlpaca · 02/03/2023 01:15

Nope. In the absence of a better word that's not offensive I'd call it downmarket. Sorry.

Viviennemary · 02/03/2023 01:13

It's dire. A 1970's rock star might call their child this.

Trinxsy · 02/03/2023 01:11

Dog name to me😬

Aquamarine1029 · 02/03/2023 01:04

Hard pass.

CallieQ · 02/03/2023 00:59

Nooooooo

It’s the sort of name people will assume is cheap and ‘chavvy’

Could you please define what a ‘cheap’ name is, with some examples?

angelis0 · 01/03/2023 20:40

Really dislike it
Sorry

IsadoraQuagmire · 01/03/2023 20:30

I love it, mostly due to Rocco Schiavone.

Meandfour · 01/03/2023 20:07

I know of a Rocco. His mum was in my year at school. His brother is called Titan.

olympicsrock · 01/03/2023 20:05

It’s a bit chavvy I’m afraid

nurseynursery · 01/03/2023 19:55

Love it but it gets a bad rap on mumsnet.

This. My friend called her little boy Rocco and at first I thought ‘what a silly name’. Once he was here though it just suited him, and I can’t imagine him being called anything else now. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s a shit name op. It’s perfectly fine, the personal preference of the individuals on here that like to tell you that EVERY name is shit just to be nasty don’t matter.

bringbacksideburns · 01/03/2023 19:58

If you are Italian you could get away with it possibly.
