We’re not finding out the gender of our first baby, we have a boy name picked but struggling for a girl! My partner likes Florence which I do really like but I don’t have my heart set on it! I really like old fashioned names, does anyone have any suggestions?☺️

I also think Veronica is due a comeback. Havent heard of any under about 80 I don't think.

I love Veronica! Fab nickname potential, too.

I don’t think I’ve seen Marion, Hazel or Margot/Margaux mentioned - Marion modernised slightly by Marion Cotillard.

Pearl is also so pretty.

I also love Rose but would probably not use it personally as I can’t remember the last baby girl born who didn’t have it as their middle name. I think the fact Stacey Solomon named her little girl Rose about a year ago might mean it’s a popular name in schools in a few years’ time. But I also see where people are coming from when they say “So what if a name is popular?” I agree it does usually mean it’s a lovely name.

Congratulations, by the way!

My little girl is Eloise which I hadn't heard of in years and still haven't heard of any since her birth. Her middle name is lily which seems to be more familiar these days

Oh, and you can shorten Florence to Florrie which I think is pretty. Have also heard the name Dilly which I think is pretty.

Colourinsidethelines · 25/02/2023 19:50

Elizabeth as it never ages and is never in or out of fashion! Can shorten it to so many things as well; Lizzie, Beth, Betty, Libby

Ada, Edith, Nancy, Florence and Maggie would also be on my list!
