Which do people prefer between Henry and Theodore? Struggling to decide. TIA

Henry for exactly the reasons Luredbyapomegranate said.

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/03/2023 22:00

OF the moment

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/03/2023 22:00

Henry - it’s popular, but Theo/dore is so off the moment, and when you combine it with all the Leos and Thea/Theodora’s it’s a epidemic

Henry shortens to Harry and Hal if he wants something more informal later. Hal needs reviving IMO.

Pemba · 27/03/2023 12:43

Henry always sounds a bit stuffy to me, I am surprised that it's apparently so popular for young boys. I prefer Harry.

I do quite like Theodore. But they won't be the only ones in the school with either of these names, if that would bother you.

SoInLuv · 27/03/2023 07:30

Theo(dore) for me, too 😍

Reddahlias · 26/02/2023 20:38

Both are quite dull from overuse

DuchessOfSausage · 26/02/2023 20:37

@MrsSamR , Theodore and Theo are both very popular, so combined will be far more popular than Henry.

MrsSamR · 25/02/2023 16:12

Theodore. There are so many boys called Henry.

ThepicofmyhairymingeprovesIamsober · 25/02/2023 16:10

Theodore is an awful name. The only Theo I know is a woman in her late 50’s. I like Henry.

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/02/2023 15:57

I would probably go for Henry right now as there are so flipping many Theodores and quite a lot of Theodoras

Hal is a nicely underused nn if you want to shorten

AnotherSpare · 24/02/2023 14:55

Much prefer Henry!
Henry is my grandad's name so I love it.
Theodore will always be a little chipmunk to me.

IWIllDoItNowInAMinute · 24/02/2023 14:53

Theodore

user1492757084 · 24/02/2023 11:40

Henry

WildCherryBlossom · 24/02/2023 10:56

I love Theodore.

With Henry I immediately think of Henry VIII and then the vacuum cleaner (I know there are lots and lots of other Henry namesakes but those are the images that pop into my head)

Rauha · 23/02/2023 20:47

Henry

Twoinapod · 23/02/2023 20:42

Henry definitely. Theodore/Theo/Teddy/Ted are everywhere now

SalviaOfficinalis · 23/02/2023 15:40

Henry is my favourite

interedin · 23/02/2023 15:39

I love both. I'd go with Theodore

HuntingoftheSnark · 23/02/2023 15:35

I love Henry. And am biased as yesterday I met a family member of that name, who is seven weeks old and adorable.

NameChangeFor2023 · 23/02/2023 15:34

I also tried to push for Theodora/Teddy for my daughter but couldn't because of the same reason.

NameChangeFor2023 · 23/02/2023 15:33

Theodore, Theo, Teddy.

Love this name but wasn't able to use it. I think it's such a fab name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/02/2023 15:31

I much prefer Henry

I actually really like Theodore and don't mind Ted. Not a fan of Theo or Teddy at all though and they are everywhere. I especially dislike Teddy (unless short for Theodora)

DuchessOfSausage · 23/02/2023 15:22

Henry. Theo is ok but Theodore is awful, and both names are very popular.

Oldmom43 · 23/02/2023 15:21

Theo - Gift From God... This is also my preference name if I have a boy.

dmb91 · 23/02/2023 15:20

Theodore
