If you want to call him Frank then call him Frank, there is no need to bother with a longer/other name in order to do so.

fairtrauchled · 22/02/2023 17:05

Love Fraser .

User6761 · 22/02/2023 17:00

Love Fraser. Would probably assume you were Scottish as I know several Scottish Fraser's but haven't met any since I've lived in England.

Don't like Francis/Frank at all, sorry. For me it has a totally different vibe to Fraser.

BridieConvert · 22/02/2023 16:32

Fraser definitely

ThomasinaLivesHere · 22/02/2023 16:30

Really dislike Francis. It’s too feminine and boys tend to hate more than girls at having gender neutral names.

I love Fraser!

mathanxiety · 22/02/2023 16:05

I love Francis.

How about Fergus?

Francis is lovely. Fraser sounds like a surname.

To be fair, I know more people with the surname Francis / Frances than I do Fraser!! Fraser is very common as a first name in Scotland.

Franko and Francesco are real names that can be Frankie.
Fraser is handsome. Do you like Forest?

jackstini · 22/02/2023 14:30

Much prefer Fraser

I'm not a big fan of unisex names though (& yes I know the female version is Frances)

Bigpinktrain · 22/02/2023 14:11

i really like Francis

Holeinthetoad · 22/02/2023 14:09

At the moment he’s Frank or Frankie but recently Francis has been sneaking in more and more on the day to day

Icannotdecideaboyname · 22/02/2023 14:06

@Holeinthetoad

Oh I love Francis, it is my favourite by a long way. Do you call him Francis or just Frank/ie

We have an 18 month old Francis and it makes me smile every time I see someone asking about it. We’ve had nothing but compliments on his name, he goes by Frank/Frankie depending who it is day to day

Icannotdecideaboyname · 21/02/2023 18:58

Sorry it would not be Frank as a nn for Fraser, it would either be Fraser or Francis but the nn Frank/ie

WhisperingAutistic · 21/02/2023 18:58

Fraser is the better of the two imo. I really really don't like Francis, or Frank.

toastofthetown · 21/02/2023 18:55

I prefer Francis. Frank as a nickname for Fraser is a stretch. But Frank is a stand-alone name and doesn’t need to be a diminutive.

DramaAlpaca · 21/02/2023 18:55

Love Fraser, hate Frank.

Buzzer3555 · 21/02/2023 18:52

I have a fraser so am biased. It often gets misspelled as frazer or frasier which is a bit irritating

HoldingTheDoor · 21/02/2023 18:47

Well if you ask for opinions on a baby name board then you'll get honest answers and that's mine.

barca123 · 21/02/2023 18:44

Icannotdecideaboyname · 21/02/2023 18:43

I know I asked for opinions but not brutal ones. I personally do not see Francis as wet but we are all different

Yes, don’t take it to heart! There’s always someone being brutal. All of my names have been destroyed on here!

Icannotdecideaboyname · 21/02/2023 18:43

barca123 · 21/02/2023 17:43

Gosh, people are harsh on here!

I like both - but I’d assume you were Scottish if you used Fraser

HoldingTheDoor · 21/02/2023 17:11

I'm not a big fan of Fraser but It's much better than the incredibly wet and unattractive Francis and Frank is a terribly ugly name.
