Is Cassius a nice name?
Thinking of using it for my little boy he's 2 weeks old
Do you have a Cassius if so what do people generally comment or think of it ?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
emmathedilemma · 21/02/2023 09:05

I don't think it matters really but ok
You clearly do or you wouldn't have asked several times and still not decided on his name!

Icanbetherubberband · 21/02/2023 09:02

You can never get a name right, one of my kids has a real marmite name, and a lot of people comment they love it, nobody comments in real life that they don't like it but it doesn't fare well on here! I like names which are a bit unusual, but well known enough that they don't sound made up. Cassius definitely meets those criteria

RosesAndHellebores · 21/02/2023 09:01

If you are always as rude as on this thread op, I suspect you will do whatever you wish in relation to your boy's name.

If you weren't so quick to take offence, I'd suggest you reflected a little.

Icanbetherubberband · 21/02/2023 09:00

It's a marmite name.
I'm in the love camp

StampOnTheGround · 21/02/2023 08:58

It's not for me at all, but you'll get this with any name. As long as you like it then it works, there are plenty of people on this thread who do so it's not going to be universally hated.

OP, in the kindest way possible as you are undoubtedly still hormonal

Very patronising just looking to get my boys name right

What do you mean by "right"? (Genuine q)
How will you know you've got it "right"?

You've asked this at least 3 times over the last few weeks!

Oh I'm sorry!!

But you'll get the same responses......some people will love it, some people will hate it. You clearly like it so call him Cassius!

Yes! I love it and have always been surprised it's not more common.

JamSandle · 21/02/2023 08:54

I think it's a strong lovely masculine name.

RosesAndHellebores · 21/02/2023 08:50

OP, in the kindest way possible as you are undoubtedly still hormonal, if you have asked three times in two weeks, I think you need to ask why you are seeking reassurance. If you have doubts then own them and chose something different. I hope it isn't the hard choice if a partner that you are having your arm twisted over. Some suggestions of strong, unusual names without the bloodthirsty/suicide connection:

Gawain
Julius Blush
Magnus
Gulliver
Hector
Caleb
Silas

nicetoseetgesunsout · 21/02/2023 08:50

Love it

I love it

mumoffourminimes · 21/02/2023 08:46

No

Needmorelego · 21/02/2023 08:44

I like it. It's a perfectly nice name.
Not everyone will like it. I personally don't like some of the names people give their boys - Arthur, Walter, Henry etc but they seem popular but I certainly wouldn't comment on it.
If you like it go for it. It's perfectly fine.
(Although if I had a baby called Cassius I would probably end up calling him Cassy Wassy....which would randomly evole into Cassy Wassy Woo Woo... which would become just Woo Woo. Btw I am currently sat next to my daughter Moo Moo 🤣)

Not super keen on Cassius but I love Cass, and I suspect that this is what he'd get called anyway.

Tbh I'm not sure if the Cass's I've met have been Cassius/Casper/Caspian/Cassian/Castiel(!)

RosesAndHellebores · 21/02/2023 08:36

No. I can't unknow the Casius in Julius Caesar. Not a likeable character.

Moonshore4 · 21/02/2023 08:36

I love it, think it’s gorgeous. I’m surprised at the negativity on here! But you’re always going to get differing opinions on names so you really need to go with what you like! Is there another name you’re choosing between?

Shugga · 21/02/2023 08:33

Reminds me of Little Nicky film. "Get in the flask!"

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/02/2023 08:32

I know a Cassius. He's brilliant. Great name!

Choconut · 21/02/2023 08:18

Cassius sounds quite grown up I think, but shortened to Cas when they're younger sounds good IMO.

Livingbestlife · 21/02/2023 08:12

Very mixed responses
