Herb based bullying not a thing :)

smileladiesplease · 15/02/2023 10:03

Beautiful name

gettingolderbutcooler · 15/02/2023 09:55

Until she has a baby of her own....😱

Herbie0987 · 15/02/2023 08:57

I am a Rosemary and have never been frumpy. In my LONG life I have only ever met 5 other Rosemary’s and 1 Rosemarie, and we have all been different ages.
My name is shortened but when I tell people my full name the overwhelming response is how lovely it is.

PrinceHaz · 15/02/2023 08:54

I think it’s pretty but a bit of a mouthful to say. It puts me in mind of a lady on the flower rota at church or a rambler - Rosemary and Brian will be leading the ramble today.

Yeah what would I know I only work in a school

Mallory Towers?
St Trinians?

RuthW · 15/02/2023 08:47

Lovely was my first choice for dd but her dad said no.

I don't actively dislike it but I do prefer Rosamund, Rosalie, Rosalind, Rosa etc

I would expect a Rosemary (who didn't shorten to Rose or Rosie)to be a bit prim and prissy

It's my daughters middle name (after my mum) and I really like it obvs but I do agree with the PP that it's quite hard to say somehow! It doesn't roll off the tongue. My daughter pronounces it 'Rose-um-ry' which sounds awful 😂

My youngest also has Rosemary as a middle name, after my mum.

She never liked it being shortened so whilst some people tried to called her Rose/Rosie, they only did it once!

Headstones250 · 15/02/2023 08:26

Rosemary West is my first thought, if I'm honest. But not, from the other comments, in the minds of others so perhaps I'm out on a limb with that.
I don't particularly like it, but I don't loathe it either; I can see why others like it. It sounds 1950-60s to me. I'd put it in the same category as Dawn and Hazel.

I am a Rosemary. Can confirm I was never roast dinner bullied (although the thought of a roast is making me hungry!).
I've always been Rosie though or sometimes Rose with my parents..I'm saving the full name to use in my sunset years!

Nimbostratus100 · 15/02/2023 08:05

absolutely beautiful

LegoGoldenDragon · 15/02/2023 08:03

I love it. Was on my girls name list, but I had boys. I also like Rhoda and Roise, although the latter would always be mistaken for Rosie in England.

Jewelanemone · 15/02/2023 07:59

Lovely name (I had a favourite Auntie Rosemary).

WinterFoxes · 15/02/2023 07:55

I like it. It's pretty and has lots of options for NN: Rose, Rosie,Rosa, Romy, Mary, May.
And the plant is beautiful, fragrant and has health-giving properties so it's lovely by association too.

Whiskeypowers · 15/02/2023 07:54

It’s lovely, I know a little girl with this name.

BrilliantUsername · 15/02/2023 07:53

I like Rosie but not Rosemary it sounds very formal and prim.

Tourmalines · 15/02/2023 07:49

Not keen, too old sounding . However, I love Rosie which it probably would be shortened to

SunnieShine · 15/02/2023 07:45

I think it's dull.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 15/02/2023 07:31

Of 'Rose' names, I like Rosamund the best.

I really like it OP.

Imogensmumma · 15/02/2023 05:31

I love it, as long as you are happy it will get shortened to Rose or Rosie…

Some kids might be cruel and ask where the roast is but kids will always find something to be mean about

I think this is… unlikely. Herb based bullying not being a thing.

Luredbyapomegranate · 15/02/2023 06:51

I like it, but think she’ll be called Rose or Rosie.. and there are a lot of those
