Just that really - would appreciate opinions. Thanks

I honestly can't see 'roast' being a thing - it's too convoluted for the school playground, and lamb is so expensive nowadays that it's assuming the status of a rare treat.

notacooldad · 15/02/2023 16:49

Some kids might be cruel and ask where the roast is but kids will always find something to be mean about
Nobody had ever asked my sister about a roast!🤣🤣

SnottyLottie · 15/02/2023 16:47

I like it, it’s got that lovely old lady vintage style but not yet overused (I’m looking at you Evie, Ada, Elsie etc). It’s also got loads of potential nicknames (Rose, Rosie, Mary, Romy).

NewtyJESUS · 15/02/2023 16:24

Old fashioned but good with some Lamb!

Yika · 15/02/2023 16:15

I think it’s lovely and very versatile in terms of shortenings and nicknames.

OhLookCriedNed · 15/02/2023 16:09

@Luredbyapomegranate What do you mean? I'm sure it happens all the thyme.

SouthCountryGirl · 15/02/2023 16:06

It's my middle name. Too old lady I think! A relative has a shortened version of it

APurpleSquirrel · 15/02/2023 12:59

My DD has it as one of her middle names, it was my mum's middle name too. I love it but agree it will get shortened.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 15/02/2023 12:23

I love it and I'm glad it's coming back along with "old" names like Anne, Jane, Mary etc. Plus there's a ton of options for nn (Rose, Rosie, Romy etc)

LulooLemon · 15/02/2023 12:14

I like it. And no one will ask where the roast is. 🤣

Stiginthedump · 15/02/2023 12:12

Not keen personally.. Rose and Marie for second name?

Reugny · 15/02/2023 12:00

DaisyCornflowerBlue · 15/02/2023 05:22

I think, old lady.

Which means it is fashionable. 😃

Blablablablaba · 15/02/2023 11:59

Well I know someone in their 70's called that, it's just very old fashioned to me. Fine if u shorten it to Rosie but if that's the plan I'd just go with Rosie which I think is lovely.

KirstenBlest · 15/02/2023 11:58

I don't like it. Mary is nice but I'm not keen on Rose. Rosie's nice

ParsleySageRosemaryTime · 15/02/2023 10:54

I’m a Rosemary in my mid thirties and I love it! I was Rosie all through school (my choice) and continue to be Rosie to friends and family.

However, I’m Rosemary at work and it’s a great name. I feel it has a bit more “heft” than Rosie, which I find useful in being taken seriously as a youngish looking woman. It also travels very well internationally. It seems to be universally fairly easy to pronounce and spell for most non-native speakers of English (e.g. easier to pronounce than Rosie for ESL Chinese speakers), and people always guess my gender correctly on emails.

SageRosemary · 15/02/2023 10:31

I'm so flattered!!!! Go for it!

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 15/02/2023 10:28

My sister's name, love it. Can confirm no herb based bullyingWink.
She tends to go by Rosie, but is still very much Rosemary to our parents.
She was actually named after the aforementioned Edison Lighthouse song, (which is a total banger btw!)

Toadallyinlove · 15/02/2023 10:23

Just asked at work (making a tea for everyone) and nobody here has heard of "Rosemary's Baby" 😁

CleaningOutMyCloset · 15/02/2023 10:21

I think West

Suzi888 · 15/02/2023 10:21

Rosemary’s baby….it’s a no for me.

CallieQ · 15/02/2023 10:21

Lovely 😊

Toadallyinlove · 15/02/2023 10:19

Beautiful!

Jewelanemone · 15/02/2023 10:19

Hoolihan · 15/02/2023 08:09

It's my daughters middle name (after my mum) and I really like it obvs but I do agree with the PP that it's quite hard to say somehow! It doesn't roll off the tongue. My daughter pronounces it 'Rose-um-ry' which sounds awful 😂

My uncle used to call my aunt 'Mosemry'. He used to sing the Edison Lighthouse song 'Love grows where my Mosemry goes' to her 😆

BubziOwl · 15/02/2023 10:14

I love Rosemary but don't love the inevitable Rose/Rosie nicknames. I like Rosa, though.

MissMaple82 · 15/02/2023 10:12

Love it
