Love the name Teddy nn Ted

Anyone know a Teddy do they use it as teenagers adults etc

I feel like Teddy is cute for a baby/young child and Ted fits if you're over 40, so there's the weird gap in between!

Edward or Edmund are great names, nn Teddy, Ted, Ed. Don't go with just Teddy.

there are quite a lot babies and toddlers called Ted and Teddy these days. It's definitely one of those names that's exploded in popularity in the last 2 or 3 years.

Many congrats OP. Very popular name for babies & pets, I know quite a few Teds/Teddy’s. I had trouble finding a name for my first son, DH & I couldn’t agree,I went through the baby name book again, and found a name I loved, DH loved it too. If you aren’t sure keep looking. Good luck.

Congratulations.
Father Ted did come to mind but I wouldn't say that was a major issue.
I can't quite imagine a teen called Ted if I'm honest. Nice name though and cute for a child.

Teddy was my favourite for our little boy but we ended up with something completely different in the end.

I think if you were to name your baby Teddy, there would be a few around the same age as they grew up.

It was the ‘grown up’ Teddy that made me change my mind.

Cute for a puppy, embarrassing for an adult male. Call him Edward and shorten it how you like.

Nicknames are not the same as diminutives - a nickname would be something on the lines as Glassy from round blue eyes, or Fuzzy from hair or something totally random.

It’s a cute nickname for a young child. Ted is fine for an adult, I know a Ted - of course he’s actually named Edward…

I’d go with Edward nickname Teddy/Ted

Yes, I'd do this.

If you like a particular nickname/diminutive I reckon it's always better to register the child with the full name, and use the diminutive, rather than register the diminutive.
