That’s it really. 1st baby.
Middle name will be William.
Surname is Italian sounding.. think DaVinci

Felix from the Latin means ‘Happy or Lucky’
Raphael is of Hebrew origin meaning ‘God has healed’

Dont mind about the cat or turtle connection at all ☺️

Raphael - def

Love Raphael. Felix is also lovely, but not a patch on Raphael.

DuchessOfSausage · 10/02/2023 15:53

@Boynamehelp , where do you get that from? Felix means happy, as in felicity, felicitous. etc.

Fleur405 · 10/02/2023 15:53

I like felix. I always thought it meant happy.

I also like Raphael but if you have an Italian surname would prefer the Italian version Raffaele

BHRK · 10/02/2023 15:51

Raphael. I hate Felix

Boynamehelp · 10/02/2023 15:48

Raphael. Rafe is a cute nn. Felix means “final” or last or similar so not for first baby.

DuchessOfSausage · 10/02/2023 15:47

Felix. Raphael and an italian surname is too italian, and I don't like Raph/Raff/Raffie etc

Cuppasoupmonster · 10/02/2023 15:46

Turtle or cat everyone? 😂

2crossedout1 · 10/02/2023 15:45

Felix

Rauha · 10/02/2023 15:45

Raphael

PearlSupernova · 10/02/2023 15:44

I think Raphael we would probably get shorten to ‘Raffie’ as a baby and ‘Raf’ when he was older / teenager.
With Felix, I’m not so sure it needs shortening, but perhaps ‘Fe’

What are the nicknames/shortened versions, OP?

I love Rafa but I don't know how to shorten Felix at all.

It matters because every time friend's have chosen DC names without an obvious nickname, and said "we would use the long version so this doesn't matter", there's been a nickname bestowed by cousins/siblings/peers. EVERY TIME. Some aren't nice choices, but have stuck!

So this is worth considering IMHO.

emmathedilemma · 10/02/2023 15:31

Felix, I really don't like Raphael it's too "frilly" for me

Twoinapod · 10/02/2023 15:11

I prefer felix but with an Italian surname I think Raphael would sound better
