Zara or Alexa (likely to be nn Lexi)?

surname is a well known two syllable name ending in er.

Yeah, sorry, but I agree that Alexa is unusable now. The "jokes" would get so tiresome for the poor kid!

DD has a friend called Alexa. She's 10. She hates her name now!

Zara 200%

I don't think the Amazon thing definitely stops you using it. I have friends who called their daughter Alexa long before the Echo came out and they have their Echo set to respond to 'Echo'. You can also choose 'computer'. I mean I know a lot of people associate the name with that but I don't think it makes it unusable.

Yeah, you can't call a kid Alexa, now.

Unless you want all the school kids shouting commands at her to be "hilarious".

If you like lexi, then I’d go with Alexandra. Agree Alexa is ruined though. Shame, it’s a beautiful name. Personally, I prefer Zara of the three.

Beeb00p · 07/02/2023 07:57

I did wonder if the Amazon thing is too much of an issue. I don’t have one and neither do any of the houses I visit regularly so it’s not a particularly strong association for me

I think Alexa is pretty much unusable now.
